[more from Trey, explaining why someone who has been baptised and now is an atheist should have a trial and then be executed]
As i said previously, though, i do not believe that anyone has the right to go around killing people "willy-nilly" (the way Muslims seem to think religion works). What i do think Scripture calls for is a real trial, with a real defense and prosecution. The fact that capital punishment is on the table is not a function of barbarism, but of the seriousness of the crime and its effect on society at large. Those who preach heresies and those who violate their Covenant vows and obligations (like yourself) are in real danger. It is not just a personal decision you are making; it is a decision that affects others, especially if you are encouraging others to abandon the Lord for an atheistic belief system.

Yep, but avoid commenting. They ban about 4 or 5 people a day over there, and the ban includes your IP.
All you have to do is disagree with Trey or Dusman and they show you the door, and then don't respond to your emails when you ask them why.
OK I don't usually comment here but I have to check something out here. Is this nutbar really saying that anyone who is baptised and then becomes an atheist should be put to death? What about folks who aren't baptised?
I was baptised but being a little less than a year old at the time, I had very little say in the matter.
Trey is the administrator for unchained radio. You will just have to join and listen to believe these guys, and read the forum. If you see threads that abrubtly end with a smarmy post by Trey, that usually means that there *was* a post that refuted him or his beliefs and/or made him look silly, and the post was deleted, the poster banned, and a damage control post was left there by him.
They are down to one or two atheists posting there, and these guys (bless their little harden atheist hearts) have to walk on egg shells and post "with all due respect" or "Please don't take this the wrong way" before each disagreement, and brown nose their way thru each post. These guys have disputed each and every red herring these guys bring up, but it does no good.
*Sigh*. Unchained Radio. Read or listen to see what the other side really thinks about you. Keep a vomit bag handy.
Kaydens:
Yes, that is essentially Trey's position (although he likens it to executing traitors - in this case, against a hypothetical Christian nation). However, he has also said that non-citizens (i.e. unbaptized non-Christians) of this "utopia" would be subject to legal consequences for breaking the "heresy" laws. One of the punishments he advocates for such offenses is death.
But as I said above, you really have to read all of his posts on the subject to appreciate the depth of his insanity.
Mr. Turquoise
Ever heard of freedom of Religion. The basic problem is that this system is just as bad as the extremist Islamic version of Jihad. You shouldn't put someone on trial because of their religion and you can't put someone to death because they are an atheist. But more to the point, wouldn't this make the atheist a martyr rather than the villian they want them to appear as.
Aren't kids baptised when they're only a couple of months old? An adult decides that she doesn't really believe in the religion that her parents baptised her into before she could even consent, and for that she deserves to die?
Not (obviously) that I think people who are baptised as as adults and then decide religion isn't for them should be killed either.
These people are usually all about the bible. Did I miss the part in the bible where it says it's okay to kill these people?
It´s the same that saying that just because you´re a Christian, you´re encouraging everybody to be Christian which, apart from being patently false, indicates your incredible double standards.
It´s funny that many religious leaders try to circumvent this fact by saying that baptism, or the Jewish equivalent, that is, presentation in the temple(at least for boys), is just a way to present the children in the religious community, since they can´t decide for themselves. Is mean, not even in the Bible´s time people were executed in those circumstances, which leads me to think, is maybe Trey thinking that he´s even OVER the laws outlined in the Bible?. That goes too far, even for a fundy.
"It is a decision that affects others.............". If your stupid version of religion says that "Christianity is a personal relationship with God", the first statement is contradictory, to say the least. Try, at least, to be consistent.
"What i do think Scripture calls for is a real trial"
Nope, confusing scripture with Law again.
"It is not just a personal decision you are making"
Yes it is. The church has no say in a persons life. This is not a theocracy and never has been
You had a valid opinion up to the end of the third sentence, you fucking arsehole.
EDIT:
And that's only when the post is taken out of context (now that I've read it properly).
> The fact that capital punishment is on the table is not a function of barbarism
Oh yes it is. It also fails as a matter of logic once a society has reached the stage where it can support life imprisonment (and some would reasonably argue that it fails long before that point).
Confused?
