They[Soldiers in Iraq] knew what they were getting into when they joined. They joined because they are brave and noble and are willing to fight for their country. They signed up for it.

Babies don't know what they are getting into when their parents conceive them and decide to kill them. They have no choice, they are dependent on the decision of the parents. They didn't sign up for it.
