GET YOUR FUCKING TUBES TIED.. if you dont want kids, dont allow the process to have any potential..

you selfish, inconciderate, pieces of shit

[You know, not everyone is healthy or wealthy enough to be able to undergo such invasive, elective surgery.]

\"GET YOUR FUCKING TUBES TIED...\"

WOW! TJ is being progressive here - most fundies would argue that sex is a sin if there is no chance of conception.

yeh - and then you can rape them as many times as you like right TJ?

\"I'm healthy because I choose to be?\"

Hmmmm. So all those diseases and cancers are choice? People choose to be quadruplegics or suffer from multiple sclerosis?

Manibeaux

I did get my fucking tubes tied, you fucker. But that was AFTER I'd already had three abortions because no one would perform the procedure until I was 30! You know, because the doctors figured surely I would eventually come to my senses and decide I needed to spew out a litter to make my life complete? Oh, and did I mention I was on the pill each time I got pregnant? Yeah, so why don't you get your dick snipped instead, you fuck?

Oh dear. Was that out loud? :D

\"Healthy because I choose to be\"?!? What absolute, unmitigated garbage!

Does this mean that whenever he's had an illness (flu, cold, chicken pox), he was so foolish as to CHOOSE to have it? Get on the horn to the CDC, TJ; they'll want to know all about this method of limiting the spread of diseases by telling people, \"Just Say 'No' To Getting Sick.\"

True, there are myriad ways of choosing to damage one's health, and healthier lifestyle choices are available than most Americans tend to follow; but your health can be just plain bad despite your best efforts and your \"choice.\" My companion of 14 years died 18 months ago at age 43, after she had endured a lifetime of increasingly poor health and misery caused by being born with acute spina bifida. Believe me, fool, she did her darnedest to \"choose\" to be healthy -- but her body just wouldn't go along with it.

As far as I'm concerned, TJ has just flung himself into an intellectual and moral abyss with that jackass comment. I have just one other rejoinder to add, and it consists of one compound word: WinAce.

I didn't bother dealing with the \"tube tying\" element because I felt it was already well covered, especially by Mannibeaux (who has my considerable sympathy for her doctors' appalling arrogance).

Y'know I don't know why we have all of these hospitals open. We would save a ton of money, if people would just choose to be healthy.

\"(note, not initiated by me, not found, or researched by me, im just restating it)\"

So basically, you just made it up. Way to go, debate king.

Breaking news: A fundamentalist believes inborn characteristics are a choice. In related news: water is discovered to be wet.

vipertaja

Wow...one chooses to be healthy?
I didn't know I chose to have a painful uncurable condition.

2/28/2006 6:07:39 PM

David D.G.

Vipertaja,

Sorry to hear that. If it's not too nosy of me to ask, what's the situation? (Feel free to post me a personal message on the FSTDT boards if you want to respond but would rather not blurt it out here.)

vipertaja

@David D.G.: I'll blurt it out just the same...I don't really care.

Atopic eczema...I suppose one could call it a \"rash\".

No allergies or causes really. Gets worse in extreme heat and cold...so I
know how Scorpius must feel in farscape. Hurts like no other when it's bad and
I'm sweating. Also has an effect on my eyes (they can easily get a bit dry and
iritated). Got out of the army 'cause I fried my face in the sun.

Obviously has a mental effect as well...I can be quite an asshole.

But then again, I've always been a lone wolf anyway.

Vipertaja,

Bummer. Serious bummer. You have my sympathy.

vipertaja

Thanks man.

Mind you the symptoms do calm down as well from time to time and it's by no
means the worst condition out there. Hardly increses my hopes of getting the
girl though when I'm bleeding in more places than I'm frankly even aware of.
(Yeah, as if I'm not scary looking enough as it is)

It does feel a bit strange though that TJ implies I wanted this.

wow, and all these years, all I had to do was choose.

vipertaja: sympathies, man. I had ideophathic urticaria (hives) for five years and man, I feel your itch.

I'm afraid that the \"I'm (im) healthy because I (i) choose to be\" comment may be a bad sign. We all know that fundies want to destroy evolutionary theory; is germ theory next on their list?

And sorry, vipertaja. I've had my share of health-type problems too. Mine *were* curable, so I was lucky, but I can assure everyone (and especially TJ) that choice had nothing to do with it. I need to give this twit a lesson on \"genetic predisposition\" and \"environmental factors.\"

\"GET YOUR FUCKING TUBES TIED\"

I want them tied, but I might come up against LAWS that prevent me from having the procedure done. I haven't checked SC laws yet, but I do know that in one state a woman has to have had at least three children and/or be over the age of 30 AND get her husband's permission to have a tubal ligation or a hysterectomy. (I can only imagine the laws are similar in SC.) Men, however, can go in at any time and get a vasectomy without question.

Even assuming I can get around all the laws in place, I still have to contend with the financial issue.

Plus, if I want my tubes tied at only 25, I'm too young to make such a rash decision. Yes, I have one child and I KNOW I do not want another one. However, no one else seems willing to believe I don't want to be pregnant again and I don't want a whole family.

So, TJ, you are going to die in an accident, or you are going to CHOOSE to die. What a wonderful future...

3/6/2006 6:22:36 PM

Integra

Why is it always "get your tubes tied"?

Why can't the man just get a vasectomy?

3/1/2008 5:28:25 PM

T. McGee

Or, YOU could get your junk snipped, couldn't you? It's a lot easier and, I'm guessing, cheaper!

And Manibeaux is DEAD ON. Most hospitals/doctors will not do this procedure for you if you're a woman under 30 because they fully believe you will change your mind at some point. Because no woman ever stands by her decision to not want a litter of rugrats, I suppose.

And Jade, are you serious?? You need 3 kids and your husband's permission?? But the husband can do it without the wife's? What the hell back-asswards state is that? And what if you need a hysterectomy for cancer, etc?

Ugh, I need to cool down.

Angelica Einstellsehn

Manibeaux: Bet they would have snipped your partner in a heartbeat, though. I'm so sorry to hear about your fucktarded doctor. You have my sympathy.

Jade: That is fucked up and backwards. Riding on the above note, does he have to get your permission for a vasectomy?

7/22/2008 8:33:11 PM

/GET YOUR FUCKING TUBES TIED.. if you dont want kids, dont allow the process to have any potential../

What if the woman is raped? Oh, wait, I'm sorry, I forgot. It's women who are supposed to take every precaution against potential rapists, no matter how absurd. They have to control their behavior. Not the pathetic, slobbering excuses for men who brutally attack them. What an imbecile.

/you selfish, inconciderate, pieces of shit/

Calling the kettle black, aren't we?

/why do you refer to me as a healthy, priveleged, white boy?... im healthy because i choose to be/

Yes, and my brother is allergic to dust mites because he chooses to be. He had a whole list of allergies to pick from and he chose dust mites!

Yes, my grandmother chose to be diabetic, as did one of her brothers. Never mind that she was born with diabetes, she decided to have it while in her mother's womb! She loves having to constantly take shots! She loves having to watch what she eats, especially since she has a sweet tooth! Just for good measure, she chose to be allergic to strawberries and have her face turn puffed and blotchy if she eats one.

You are an obnoxious, unfeeling moron. Good grief, grow up.

@Manibeaux, David D.G., vipertaja, and Jade: You have my sympathies. This loser doesn't know what the heck he's talking about.

Life would be great if I was healthy. After I pump out all the kids I want(That being, ah, seven), I can surely afford to get expensive surgery!

Not to mention that if that was now, in my current state, I would be unable to, for reasons beyond my control - I am unable to gain weight and am underweight, and therefore not advised to have children.(My doctor said this is unlikely to change...Still hoping)

Yeah. I CHOOSE to be sick all the time.
I CHOOSE to bite my hands in my sleep until they bleed.
I CHOOSE to be unable to regulate temperature properly.
I CHOOSE to give up my dreams of a massive family.
I CHOOSE to have to stay up all night.
I CHOOSE to have a family history in mental illness, including schitzophrenia, bipolar disorder, psychosis, depression and dillusions. (Dillusions are okay, I suppose. I seem to think everything is made of oddly-coloured strawberries.)
I CHOOSE to have horredeous nightmares of a woman with bleeding eyes in a mirror that constantly keep me awake at night after a childhood encounter.

The only thing I chose, healthwise, is vegetarianism.
