If prayer was allowed in school, there would be less school shootings because you will more than likely not kill someone you pray with. Unless most school shootings are committed by moralless atheists.

At the high school my kids attend there are Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Indus, Wiccans, Sikhs, and a generous helping of atheists.
As far as I know there is no organized prayer in the school. I mean which would you choose?
No shootings yet. In fact precious little in the way of any violent acts.
Any data on the religious persuasion of the individuals responsible for Columbine?
What about the students who goaded and bullied them?
Do some research before shooting off at the mouth, you'll look less like an idiot.
"If prayer was allowed in school, there would be less school shootings because you will more than likely not kill someone you pray with."
First, if you had paid better attention in school, you might realize that it's "fewer" shootings not "less."
Second, prayer IS allowed in public schools, just not public prayer. At the large high school where I work we have a Christian club. They pray at school. Of course, we also have many other clubs including the Gay-Straight Alliance.
"Unless most school shootings are committed by moralless atheists."
With better attention you might also notice that isn't a complete sentence.
Lack of morals or ethics are in no way tied to atheists. Surely some atheists have poor ethics, but so do many Christians and other religious persons.
Prayer IS allowed in schools. At my high school, we had a prayer study group meet before school, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and our token Muslim student was excused from class at noon so she could pray in privacy. Anyone who wanted to pray could, but school admins couldn't lead prayer and force us to pray.
If religion decreases the amount of school shootings, why are there so many school shootings in the Bible Belt?
If prayer was allowed in school,
It is allowed. You can pray to your heart's content, and nobody will stop you. You're just not allowed to make it a requirement, or interrupt class with it. As for your little theory, Christians kill other Christians all the time, even if they are members of the same church. They have been killing each other for centuries, too. You might want to study some history before you shoot your mouth off.
Unless most school shootings are committed by moralless atheists.
What a nice, underhanded slap there, jackass. Atheists have killed people. For all I know, an atheist might have been involved in a school shooting. But it isn't because they are atheists. It's because something went snap inside their heads.
You can pray all you want in public schools, it's just not allowed to force Christian prayer on people that aren't Christian.
Atheists make up about 10 percent of the US population, but only 0.2 percent of the prison population.
Christians make up 75 percent of both the general and prison population.
Your argument fails.
The problem as I see it, Alex, is that non-Christians will resent a prayer that endorses Christianity, Christians will resent a prayer that doesn't endorse their delusions, and atheists lose no matter what.
Prayer is allowed in public schools, it just cannot be lead by a person representing that school.
You also ignore the fact that a Christian could very easily kill those he or she knows are non-Christians.
My name is Jebel Musa. I am a cocoa merchant in Lagos, Nigeria, and I wish to seek your help to move the proceeds of an overbilling to a major European chocolate manufacturer out of the country before my creditors discover the discrepancy -- a total of EUR14million. The thing is, I wish to donate the proceeds to a worthy Christian charity, for after the transaction was completed I was convicted in the Spirit and felt that the best way to dispose of these ill-gotten funds was to seek a worthy charity. As compensation for your efforts, I offer you ten percent, or 1.4 million euros, as a commission, hopefully to be disposed of in the same honorable way that I shall do with the rest.
Now I know that my modalities very strongly resemble those who you hear of as "419 scammers". But I assure you that due to my profession of faith in Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that I am not a scamming mugu, and all this is assuredly legitimate.
Your confidant in Christ,
Ibrahim Musa
If common sense was allowed into the fundie mindset, there would be less ill-thought out statements made based on the fact that knowing something and making something up to support your argument are not the same thing. One is not as likely to try and fool others by pretending they know what they are talking about if the audience wasn't always a bunch of yee-hawing rednecks who worship jesus and the American flag. Most foot shootings are committed by self-reich-ous christians.
If prayer was allowed in school, there would be less school shootings because you will more than likely not kill someone you pray with. But of course not. Someone you have lunch with, play football with, go to the movies with, and share test scores with, sure, but someone you pray with?! Absolutely not!
[/Sarcasm]Unless most school shootings are committed by moralless atheists." Atheists have morals just like religious people. In fact, judging from statistics such as crime and divorce rates, we have more morals than Christians.
As statistics say that atheists comprise only 1% of the jail population, and that people kill more likely their neighbours and people they do know well for jelousy and all that, and that forcing somebody to pray can be a source of hate, you fail.
If prayer was allowed in school there would be MORE school shootings because as long as you pray to jesus and repent afterwards it was all righteous and stuff to kill all those people that disagreed with you.
Far as I can tell most of those school shootings are caused by kids going postal after getting beaten/insulted/hatespeeches/etcetcetc for being different for many years until they snap, and all the good little christian moms and dads asking "oh no! what could've caused this!" after ignoring the horrors their kids were doing to others...
edit: woops: meant Forced (what they mean by allowed), not allowed up there in first sentence!
"As long as there are tests, there will be prayer in school."
Seriously, though...as has been mentioned earlier, prayer IS allowed in public schools. You can pray all you want, as long as you don't disrupt school proceedings by doing it or try to make anyone else pray.
1. Prayer IS allowed in school.
2. Err, "because you will more than likely not kill someone you pray with"? Where does that leave all the people who don't choose to pray? Right, you'll condemn and loathe them, just as your kind have for hundreds of years.
3. Atheists are just as moral as anybody else, including Christians (probably more so). Difference is, we don't need some imaginary deity telling us what's right and wrong.
I went to a Catholic school, there was a mix of Catholics, Protestants, Pagans, Athesists, Hindus and Muslims. We had prayer every morning and at the start of every class. We also had a bomb threat every other week in the bathrooms.

Because, as the Irish could tell you, christians are NEVER violent towards other christians

Actually most protestants and catholics don't pray together, or attend the same schools.
Noooooooo. Au contraire mon frère. If prayer was allowed in school, those inclined to commit school shootings would pray fervently for success in killing lots and lots of 'unbelievers'. Maybe they'd pray along merrily with the others, right before the shootings start too, hoping that their favourite higher being will grant them the strength to slaughter everyone around them.
Prayers are allowed in school. As long as you don't disturb the lessons, you can pray all you want.
I've even prayed in school, and I went to school in socialistic, atheist Sweden.
Come to think about it, we've never had any school shootings, as far as I know. Maybe you need more socialism and atheism?
Confused?
