RE: Palin won't cave to big science

Palin has a level head as well as a pretty one:
http://www.tsas.us/if-72-...isis-from-the-presidency/

Are children these days are facing increasing pressure from the FEDERALLY FUNDED scientific establishment to accept evil-ution as the explanation for everything, but we're lucky that the Republican party gets its answers from the right (no pun intended) place: the good book. The founding fathers as well as every wise man in history has lived his life by the teachings of the bible (Black Hussein Obama lives his life by the KORAN).

Look, nobody's sure where all of this shit came from, but there's a real debate here. Intelligent design is every bit as valid a theory as Evolution, and I'm glad Palin and McCain have the foresight to give the good book back the time it deserves in schools.

I don't understand how people who think God is somebody's name can call themselves atheist. It makes no sense @ all. Its the mentality of theists to operate under the presumption that God is somebody not an atheists.

If more people shook of this nonsense about God being somebody's name those who seek to push their opinions with the pretense that God wants it would be far less successful. If somebody said YAWH (name of Christian deity) says abortion is wrong nobody would take any notice, but because people are indoctrinated into theist belief about God people can get away with saying God says abortion is wrong. People need to realize that when a theist uses the word God they are referring to a deity, this is not the case for all people who use the word God. Atheists use the word God in an entirely different way, for an atheist to assert that God doesn't want or like something is absurd. That would be like saying love doesn't like stem cell research, absurd.

This whole issue exists as a result of atheists being willing to adopt theist belief in regards to what God is. Without said willingness to adopt theist belief about the nature of God the whole issue with laws & politicians using the word God to manipulate public opinion would not exist.

Why does it seem to be fashionable and cool these days to be an atheist, gay or a satanist?
Why are so many young people at my college turning their back on God and our savior Jesus Christ?

Is it just a fashion statement? Are they rebelling against authority? Why is it so cool these days to be unchristian and so uncool to have faith in our Lord?

[Why does God let us suffer so much? Every five seconds a child dies of hunger, why?]

there are multiple reasons but the main one is that God is trying to get your attention that he is real. if god were to solve all our problems right now we would only think that those events were natural and never give him the credit for it. god is willing to stop it if people would just ask.

[Do you admit that you deny evolution because of your religious bias?]

NOPE. I came to Christianity through evaluating the evidence. im not afraid to face the facts I just find the facts for God more logical than evolution

(Watchingthesky had quite the 'spiritual' experience reading the Koran)
That being said, I would not recommend anyone who is not strong in their Faith and walking with God read the koran. Seriously. There is a very strong, demonic spirit on those pages. A binding spirit, something bleak and dark.

I speak from experience. When I first started reading the koran, I wasn't exactly walking strong with the Lord. I was backslidden, to be honest. As I read through the book, I started having very strange and increasingly distressing dreams. There was a pull in it, something beckoning me to accept it, to give in to it, and most importantly to DENY CHRIST WAS GOD AND MY SAVIOR. I remember some of the most disturbing dreams -- I would be in arab garb and others would be demanding that I deny Christ to become "one of them". I always resisted, screaming at them that Jesus was Lord. I would wake up in cold sweats, terrified and exhausted.

It was truly disturbing and the one time in my life when I can honestly say that I was under spiritual attack for certain.

I started to feel like there was something in the apartment with me at times, watching me. Something dark, something that wasn't there for my benefit.

I started praying a lot after that, crawling back to Christ and things cleared up very quickly. Praise God!

Funny thing is, years later when I read through the Book of Mormon, I sensed the same kind of spirit, but it had nothing on me by that point. I saw it for what it was, I guess, and whatever spirits inhabited those texts couldn't get to me as I was walking much closer to the Lord.

Pastor Fred Phelps comes a whole lot closer to being right than MOST pastors in America today, i.e., concerning his fierce stand against homosexuality in America. Would to God that more pastors CARED about the deplorable spiritual condition of the United States. The average American today has waxed sinfully proud, spoiled, and indifferent concerning evil. You can't tell most Americans the truth nowadays, because they either flare up in hostility and rage or could care less. Many Americans have become intolerant and hostile towards the truth. A soon to be released Walt Disney movie, UNDER DOG, features the motto... "One nation under dog!" BLASPHEMY!!!

People, this is NOT a proper submission for FSTDT's mainpage. This is an anecdote by an involved third party; mainpage entries should be the fundie's own words either posted by the fundie himself/herself (preferred) or reported by an uninvolved third party (i.e., the press). That's the whole point of FSTDT's mainpage -- the fundies are the ones who trumpet their own idiocy to the world, so we are innocent of any manipulation or bias in simply repeating it.

I will not remove this item (at least, not just yet) because of this discussion thread on it, though I will ask Distind if it is possible to move it to the Forums and keep the thread intact. In future, please DO NOT submit such anecdotes to the mainpage; however, you are more than welcome to post them in the Forums, where we can have just as good a discussion about them there.

Why are some people so gullible as to believe the Evolution Theory?

I wish people would actually investigate the facts and not let certain "scientists" influence their vulnernable and weak-willed minds.

I have corresponded with most of the evolutionary scientists out there: Lenksi, Felsenstein, Charlesworth, Wood, Crow, Ewens etc....and I was surprised at how little evidence they could bring forth in support of the Theory. Ewens even admitted that the fundamental theorem of natural selection ( as proposed by Ronald Fisher) does NOT relate to evolution.

When you examine the fossil record and the dearth of transitional fossils, the sudden explosion of new species in a short timeframe, the lack of genomic evidence ( did you know the mouse has more genes than a human) , the fact that symbiosis is far more prevalent in Nature than competition and selection, you begin to realize just how much the modern synthesis stinks.

Yes, I'm such a homophobe. *sarcasm*

Have you ever been hit on by one? It's disgusting and sick. The person knew I was straight. I don't give a flying leap if your gay, no, I really don't care.

I don't agree on marriage. "Their love is the same" my back end. A love between a man and a woman is not the same as man x man or woman x woman. Man x woman doesn't equal any of that. So don't pull that card. I'm sick of that card. Some people love and want to marry animals. Should we stick them in the same boat because it's 'love?' Because it's not the same. It's a little demented fetish they allowed to grow.

They can have the rights of marriage, but they don't deserve the title. They chose a life (and don't give me that genetics bull.) that doesn't have all the rights, etc. But apparently going about it and whining allows something to be done (and once again California is the first to think that allowing it makes them oh so trendy. This is the same state that's banning lightbulbs. Oh, woe is to that evil lightbulb!)

I also get tired of the 'gay rights' nonsense. Oh, let's not forget 'gay pride.' They get their rainbow panties in a knot when we went to speak up for straight pride because you know, we have nothing to be proud of and it makes us homophobes!

I also just do not like it. I find it morally wrong.

Well, I can totally agree with your actions. I've been getting regular haircuts in anticipation of the Rapture. I'm not sure if our hair will continue to grow in our glorified bodies, maybe it will? So, just in case I started making sure my hair always looks nice for Jesus. I really do feel like I'm getting ready for a wedding somedays.

My science teacher Mrs. B aka Ms. Frizzle behind her back, loves torturing us with scary stories about Super Volcanoes, and Masssive Rocks, and Global Warming. As a CHRISTIAN, I am not scared. Jesus says in the bible that the Followers of Christ will be taken before the rest of the world is destroyed. So I have that piece. But why am I still scared

[Excerpted from what seems to be a "letter to the editor" sort of thing.]

When God sent the rain on this Earth for 40 days and nights, all this water had to go someplace so the Earth would be dry again.

Remember, God is the Creator and controls the universe.

God tilted the Earth from its original position and caused all the excess water to rush to the poles, and there he instantly froze the water into the ice formations that exist today.

Time is ticking down on God’s time clock. With all the nuclear bombs that are made and stored for the fast-emerging last battle, this Earth would burn up when these nuclear bombs are set off.

We are not creating global warming – God is tipping the Earth back to its original position on its axis and thus getting all this ice to get ready to move and extinguish the nuclear destructive fires man will create.

why do the alleged "Palestinians" want Israel?

why do so many hate the Jews?

why are whole countries and ideologies so bent on the takeover or destruction of one country about the same size as the state of New Jersey?

there is no logical explanation (at the deepest levels that i can understand), there is no reason for the hatred.... i venture that it is demonically inspired.

Occult infiltration into Christianity is the infiltration of people from occult groups into Christianity. It is people from the occult world entering Christian circles, particularly leadership and influential positions, with a hidden agenda against Christianity.

There are many false teachings that have marks of people in the occult trying to destroy Christianity from within. The most prominent among them include the materialism “gospel” that has worldliness packaged with a Christian face by using selective bible verses that are itchy to our ears. Another is the homosexual “gospel,” that God loves us all and accepts each person the way he/she is unconditionally.

These are largely marks of people in the occult trying to destroy Christianity from within. Once the core foundational bases of Christianity are destroyed Christianity loses its power to change people’s lives. In the materialism “gospel” there are some preachers that are merely wolfs in sheep’s clothing. They are therefore not sheep (Christians) but are wolfs preying on innocent Christians with their teachings of worldliness.

The big wolves are those in the homosexual “gospel.” They have been fighting to force their teachings on Christianity for decades. So far a few denominations have succumbed and are now ordaining gay pastors. We’re also seeing a rise in gay musicians in Christian music. They work from the top influential positions in order to choke Christianity’s spiritual power.

Is this just a mere development of an evolving church? Certainly not. It’s a calculated effort from those in the occult to silently chock Christianity.

Okay, as a spouse of a recovering porn addict I can offer some support. There are programs you can download that will email you the entire list of whatever was looked up and looked at on any computer you load it into. This little program can not get around it as I know what gets googled as well. Anytime the screen changes, the link is recorded before the cashe is deleted.

I ended up having to go to his work place (got permission after speaking with employer) and downloading it onto every computer he had access to as well as our home computer.
It might sound invasively crazy, but my husband has told me many times how knowing I would find out helped him in weaker moments to turn away. This was at the beginning of the recovery and I could tell you stories that would make a brick weep. Did not stop him all together, many falls off the wagon, but steady progress was made.

My BF smokes sometimes, especially when we do bible study. I hate smoking, but if we sit outside it is ok.
The other day he was blowing smoke all over the Bible and I was furious with him. He said that there is nothing wrong with it and I must shut up.

[I'm sure it won't be a sin, however, if you put the Buybull down like you smoke]

I don't care about Abraham Linkin or those other atheist presidents in the past. We came to accept Jesus into our country and since we accepted Jesus our country became powerful and blessed with wonderful gifts.

Today we are the biggest Christian nation in the world.

I just wonder why atheists think it is not a Christian nation? Why do they use the dead presidents as an excuse. We dont live for the past we live for the future and our Christian Values makes us the most sucesful contry in history!
