May 21, 2011 is exactly 7000 years to the day from the shutting of the Ark's door; salvation has come to an end. The Day of the Lord begins and the wrath of God will be physically displayed upon this earth and carry through into eternity.
May 21, 2011 is the 17th day of the 2nd month, exactly the same day the door was shut in Noah's day 7000 years prior according to Genesis 7:11: In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.

Hmm. The second month, you say? Not the fifth?
Then, that would make the first month of the year April!
*turns to his fellow non-Fundies*
Do you want to tell this assclown about the origin of April Fools' Day, or should I?

Not that I don't trust you but would you mind providing your calculations so the rest of us can check them? Be sure you provide your reasoning for the dates also.

Uh, what kind of screwy calendar are you using that has May as the second month and the 21st day as the 17th?
Revelations 21:17?
"On May 21, 2011.....
:P
So instead of 2012, the end of the world has been move up to 2011 now?
God is a fickle fellow, ain't he?
I think the site's referring to the 17th day of the second month of the Hebrew calendar. Cheshvan iirc, but don't take my word for it.
But the rest is almost certainly bull by any standard. 7000 years is too long ago by Judeo-Christian calculations, last I heard.
I wonder if they'll give up faith if it doesn't happen the way they expect.
That said, you better all be warned and prepared, because on July 5th 1998 the world WILL come to an end, and this is TRUTH my brothers and sisters. Disregard the words of HEATHENS and LIARS, and the calendars of the Conspiracy. At this time the chosen WILL be Ruptured off into space by Xist sex goddesses! PRAIIIIISE "BOB"! ONLY the Ordained shall be SAVED! You're still PINK unless "Bob" sees your GREEN, so prepare to burn, burn, BURN unless you pay, pay, PAY!
Praise "Bob", praise Him dearly! Amen!
Bishop Ussher calculated creation as happening on October 23, 4004 BC. Adam would have been born on October 29. The Bible says the Flood occurred 1,656 years later, or 2348 BC. So the 17th day of the second month 7,000 years is 4651 AD (I think ... the "no year 0" thing gets confusing). Of course, the second month would be the second lunar month on the Jewish calendar for the year corresponding to 2348BC, adjusted for the 11-14 day Gregorian correction.
Prediction: On May 22, 2011, one random person on the internet will choosing another random date for the apocalypse and publishing his arbitrary reasons for doing so, utterly neglecting to tell us that he only determined the date in question by tossing calendars for the next 5 years on the floor and seeing which scrap his cat chews on first.
According to the Hebrew calenders my family has, the second month is Iyar, and the 17th day of Iyar takes place mostly on May 22 (begins previous sundown). Plus, on their website they say it ends on October 21, 2011, which is the 8th day of the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot). Sukkot lasts 7 days. These guys couldn't even check a Hebrew calender or use Wikipedia.
Ok first of all, what Hebrew calendar r u referring too? Because the last time I checked the first day of the Jewish New Year begins with the blowing of the shofar on the first New Moon of SEPTEMBER!!Its called Rosh Hashanah, or the JEWISH NEW YEAR! So the 2nd month would begin with the 2nd New Moon, probably sometime in OCTOBER!!So please, before u start putting a date on "The Day and Hour that is NOT KNOWN,nor by the Son,but only the Father!!" maybe u should do a little research, pay attention to the signs in the heavens, and know that the time is at hand, but when that time is,only God knows!
Don't get me wrong I believe the Biblical feasts, and maybe some extra canonical ones as well,do have symbolic and even prophetic meanings behind them, and I believe God likes to use these days to fulfill his prophecies. But the fact is these feasts almost never happen on the same day each year, they change annually. So let's keep our eyes on the skies, the feasts, the temple mount, and the church, and I'm sure that soon enough the veil will slowly, but surely,be lifted!
YHVH Bless u all!

Whoa! I thought they were the same guy. In fact all three of him, like Huey, Dewey and Louie, and 3-in-1 Oil.
So can I have your stuff on May 20, O True Believer? Uh, minus all the beard lint, dried spittle and those oddly sticky crucifixes.
We survived Nyx.
We survived Deathwing (even if that was just on Azeroth, BUT STILL.)
We survived Walpurgisnight.
We will survive May 21 (since it's only going to be another Saturday, anyway.)
"May 21, 2011 is the 17th day of the 2nd month,"
Noah was using the financial calendar then?
I'll be celebrating at the end of the world party the local old-school arcade with my mom. They have Joust, Mortal Kombat, and many other awesome (aka sinful) games to play while you're getting Ruptured.
Well, May 21st has come and gone. And strangely enough, we are all still here.
This is an event that was pushed by an evangelical called Harold Camping. Apparently as soon as he realised the world wasn't ending, or the Crapture wasn't happening he ran away and hid in a motel.
He spent (literally) millions of dollars of donations on advertising, and convinced a lot of good people to sell everything and donate to his cause.
I read where he said he has now fallen back to his 2nd choice date in October. May was "only" the end of the spiritual world, or some hornswaggle like that.
Anybody up for a Halloween/Non-End of the World Party? I'll bring snacks! ;)
@ CanadianBroad
Ah yes, the "spiritual" dodge. When god told Adam and Eve they would drop dead when they ate form the tree of knowledge ("dying you shall die" the Hebrew text says), he meant a spiritual death.
"Spiritual, not physical," it never fails.
Confused?
