"because she has rebelled against her God; they shall fall by the sword, their little ones shall be dashed in pieces, and their pregnant women ripped open."
You'd think that the pro-lifers would want to cover this verse up.
"What is it about the verse that you find unacceptable?"
If you don't know, then you shouldn't be outside of a cell.
I think the best part about this is the time I told my parents about this part, and they thought FSTDT made it up. Well, I looked in one of my grandparents' Bibles, and sure enough....
Making it more acceptable?
It's the motherfucking bible. It's the unfettered word of God. Don't you know you don't fuck with that? God will pwn you so hard.
It's supposed to be brutal and violent and repugnant. Or at least the first two. If you try to change it you're a liar and are violating one of the ten commandments.
Let me explain it another way.
I'm going to make you fall with my sword, then dash you into pieces, then rip you open.
What is it about that that you find unaccepable?
If you see that this verse (as many others) are not moraly acceptable, Maybe you should reconsider your choice of religion or at least your choice of doctrin!
If you don't see the moral dilema in this verse - I don't ever want to meet you! Never EVER! You are totally perverted!
Nothing objectionable there, if you've been brought up on a steady diet of gore and snuff movies.
But of course, there are people that thought Passion of the Christ was perfectly acceptable family viewing, while at the same time screaming blasphemy because a woman in a film somewhere has nipples.
"Blood for the blood God, skulls for His throne of skulls!"
The Book of Hosea is in the Old Testament, and the god that's described there is very different than the God described in the New Testament.
More lunacy from Christian psychopaths. Here's another quote from that page :
"Given that the events of Acts 1:18 came at least a month after the events of Matthew 27:5, it is perfectly plausible that the rope broke after that long and Judas busted open on the rocks below"
These people are simply mentally ill, there really is no other way to describe it. This is not how a normal adult thinks. They are so convinced their survival hinges on sucking up to an evil God, everything else in their life gets jettisoned - morals, compassion, justice, even the ability to think logically and admit they *CAN* be wrong.
The slaying of little children who are, to put it mildly, extremely unlikely to have committed evil deeds, comes to mind.
And yes, you STILL have to explain why just carrying a tendency to sin, without actual deeds of sin, merits ceaseless agony. Why would God's holiness depend on mercilessness?
Well ... I don't have a problem with the word, 'because'. I like that, it sounds pretty cool, we should definitely keep that bit. I just sort of have a bit of a problem with ... everything else.
Confused?
