You have facts and I have the Bible. To me, your facts mean nothing. And no you don't have more. And it wouldn't matter anyways, they are meaningless.

To me, your bible means nothing. Plus, I too have several bibles (various translations), a whole lot of other books, and plenty of facts. In other words, you lose!
"You have facts and I have the Bible. To me, your facts mean nothing."
Is that a fact?
Of course, next time Horton here says something along the lines of "it says in the bible that...", I hope everyone on the thread reminds here that this is meaningless by her own admission. The fact that she read it in the bible makes it so.
Well, next time you are in the doctor's office being diagnosed with an easily treatable malady remember that facts mean nothing. In fact, live your entire life as though facts mean nothing and see how far you get.
Also, what the hell kind of facebook group is that? Talk about stupid.
You have your things that happened, I have my things that didn't.
To me, your things are meaningless.
I refuse to join Facebook, so can someone tell me what this group actually is about? Does "future beloved" refer to the unfortunate spouse they assume will come along or their unborn children? Creepy either way, really.
David B.: I once got rid of a Mormon missionary that way. When he told me that there is no such thing as objective reality, I responded that all of that stuff that he had just told me about the Bible must not be objectively real, either.
In that case, quit college. All it is is a wasteful, silly fact house. You could have read the Bible, like, 7 times over had you stayed at home.
"You have facts and I have the Bible"
And just that quickly the debate is over! Goodnight everybody, drive safely!
It's interesting how the reverse argument would simply be seen as attacking her religion. That her facts mean nothing in an objective sense and her opponent's facts mean nothing only to warped people like Miss Horton is an ironic juxtaposition apparently missed by the poor dear.
@Count Spatula: It's not 2000 years old, either. You were closer the first time. But, hey, what's a few more years of nonsense between friends?

Jesus and the apostles and the first Christians didn't have Bibles. It was the Church that eventually gathered and put together various books and called them that. If you believe that the Bible is the main and only source of authority for Christians, then you are effectively saying that the Christian religion was without authority and guidance for that span of time in which the "Bible" did not exist.
Confused?
