Humm, strange post.
Being British but with half my famuly living in Ohio (incidentally going to visit them for the 4th of July) makes me a bit nervous dishing out too much pain on this subject.
However it has always amazed me why a country which hands out guns with bank accounts could possibly be surprised, at all, by the shootings which occur. I mean c'mon, seriously, the relationship here isn't obvious? If you handed out knives and then saw a rise in stabbings, this wouldn't fire any synapses at all?
The ironic thing here, for me, is that most Americans don't own guns, it's the morons who own 20 and are stock-piling for the end of the world, whom are terrifying; the NRA says that the government 'can take the guns from our cold dead hands' and yet the problem isn't with rifles (national RIFLE association) it's with hand guns....and AK47 assault rifles.
Who shoots a deer with a ak47 or a hand-gun? How many homies in the hood pull off a drive-by with a rifle?
American's don't need any other guns apart form the rifle (strictly for shooting practise and pest control, hummm maybe for self defense from bears if you're hiking in the Rockies), if everyone didn't have guns, no-one would need one for self defense. Owning a deadly weapon is not a freedom, the American working in non-law enforcement needs, it can be taken away, and should be taken away before teachers start arming themselves and blowing away students for talking back to them in class.
Obama, should be the best thing to ever happen to America and I wish I could vote for him, I sincerely do.
