[on the Seattle nudist controversy]
Anybody on here have a semi that can load up all these naked idiots and bring them east to Iowa?? Got some good old boys and girls who won't have any problem in showing these degenerates how they should behave in public. Sounds like it's more than time for a "come to Jesus" meeting for these perverts...

I do agree that it is not appropriate in our society for people to run around naked in public. (Think of the children!)
But there is nothing inherently wrong with nudity. If God had a problem with people being naked, he would have had us all born with clothes on.
@What: Firearms? Here in the US, "semi" refers to a large diesel truck.
Here in the UK "a semi" can be a slang term for a slightly tumescent penis, and has nothing to do with firearms. Armed with that (slightly disturbing) knowledge, read the above again and try to imagine my poor brain working out what the author is on about.
@The L - that makes even more sense. Just shows my prejudiced thinking "it's American, it must involve guns". I apologise wholeheartedly.
'Got some good old boys and girls who won't have any problem in showing these degenerates how they should behave in public'
So what? Are they going to go around agressivley wearing clothes at the naked people?

Why do I get the feeling that your idea of how to behave in public will be violent mobs beating the shit out of anyone who doesn't conform to their particular views?
Jesus said, "When you strip without being ashamed, and you take your clothes and put them under your feet like little children and trample then, then [you] will see the son of the living one and you will not be afraid."

Alternately, you can save time, money, and energy by doing your thing in Iowa and letting other folks do their thing in Seattle.

Okay... I have a really dirty mind, so nvm
So what is comeuphere saying? That Iowans are a bunch of dumb-ass redneck morons who deal with people they don't like by beating them up? Maybe that's true:
"Nine in ten students (91%) of LGBT students in Iowa reported hearing homophobic remarks frequently in their schools. Over a third (36%) of Iowa LGBT students reported some incident of physical harassment (being pushed or shoved) because of their sexual orientation; while nearly 16% of students reported some incident of physical assault (being punched, kicked or injured with a weapon) because of their sexual orientation or gender expression."
Or maybe not:
"The Governor and I are committed to doing whatever we can to ensure that every single student in this state [Iowa] has a safe and nurturing environment in which to learn," said Lt. Governor Patty Judge. "We commend the state's many outstanding Gay-Straight Alliances for their hard work in making our schools more accepting and welcoming of all people."
On one hand, not everyone wants to see naked people on the street unless they're in a nudist colony or something.
On the other hand...WTF @ the idea that naked = sexual in every case for all time and eternity?!
WTF? Iowa isn't the south, even. 'Good ol' boys and girls...??'
What would they even do? Force them into clothes and make them attend church at gun point?
Oh my gosh, a threat from Iowans!
Careful, Viking. They can probably do vicious things with a corncob.
The Hawkeyes are coming!
The Hawkeyes are coming! Look out.
Geeze, you'de think a bunch of nekkid folks defiled the flag in Iowa, but no, they're minding their own damn business hundreds of miles away and a group of fundies, who "know how to act", can't stand it.
fucm
I feel a lot of sexual undertones and tension here. "come to jesus", load up, got some good old boys and girls, comeuphere.
Keep it up, buddy, you're just giving me more reasons to learn how to protect myself, with or without a weapon.
I thought nudists did not place any sexual meaning in being nude. It's just how God made you, and what you hide is more interesting than what you show.
People who have been to nudist colonies often say that it feels strange for a day or so, then you don't see the nakedness anymore, and start treat people for who they really ARE, not for what kind of clothes they are wearing and what that imply about their social status.
But you should not force your nakedness onto other people. Being naked in your own home, or in colonies, or half naked in your own backyard, that is ok. But out in public it's polite to wear something to cover up those "naughty parts".
I smell an opportunity here for an impromptu hot-oil-wrestling clinic.
But yeah, Quantum Mechanic beat me to it.
...
"As a general thing, naked people tend to be more polite."
Regrettably, I cannot attribute this quote to anyone, it seems like something Mark Twain might have written... but I have sampled the nudist experience and find this statement more than valid.
I consider the typical American gymnophobic attitude to be the real perversion in regard to full exposure, btw. We have the imbedded Calvinist guilt-and-shame shtick to thank for that.
Confused?
