Hi there.
As a creationist, I get a lot of people saying that I believe in religious crap. But I found that more religions are based on evolution than creationism, and that the idea of evolution was taken from the Hindu's incarnation philosophy.
Just want to know if any 'evolutionists' are willing to accept that their science and their religion go hand in hand?

Yeah, well...
"But I found that more religions are based on evolution than creationism, and that the idea of evolution was taken from the Hindu's incarnation philosophy."
I can't fathom how you came to this conclusion.
"Just want to know if any 'evolutionists' are willing to accept that their science and their religion go hand in hand?"
Science and religion have been at odds with one another since science began. Guess the priesthood didn't like their little con game being exposed.
Until someone shows scientific evidence that god exists, religion and science aren't going to get along, let alone go "hand in hand."
No, the ToE was not taken from earlier religions -- unlike, say, the great flood or the dying and rising god.
Fundi Basher:
What is with this obsession with calling evolution a religion?
Fundies can't understand anything except as a distorted mirror image of themselves. They believe creation because they just do, and they make up shit to try to make it sound plausible. They imagine everyone else does the same thing because they can't comprehend doing it a different way. Therefore evolution is a religion, science is another wird for that religion, and scientists make things up because it makes evolution sound good.
There would be noone who would have a problem if evolutionary science would go hand in hand with a religion (i.e. if it wouldn´t contradict religion).
But obviously it either contradicts religious beliefs (especially those beliefs that depend on taking a holy book literal) or doesn´t touch them (which is the case with libveral christians and yes, also Hinduism, as, contrary to what you write, evolution hasn´t to do anything with the hinduist circle of reincarnations)
...evolution was taken from the Hindu's incarnation philosophy.
No it wasn't. Evolution has absolutely nothing to say on matters involving spirituality and/or religion. It deals entirely with the speciation of living creatures.

I don't have a religion.
You are wrong, reincarnation <> evolution.
But, you are wrong even if it was, that would be personal development, not evolution.
Evolution occurs in populations, not in individuals.
If I had a religion, you're goddamned right it would be supported by science.
You believe in religious crap. That is your license to spout pseudo-religious crap. We all know it.
I think reincarnation makes the most sense for immortal souls, but that's neither here nor there. Or anywhere.

:Jawdrop:
That, hands-down, is one of the most bizarre statements I've ever read on FSTDT. And that, Simeon, takes a whole lot of effort.
+1 for creativity, though.
"But I found that more religions are based on evolution than creationism"
Where, pray tell? Was this new 'fact' hiding in a smelly place within ones underpants?
Don't be fatuous. There are a lot more people who understand evolution than there are scientists that understand Hindu incarnation philosophy. And long, long before Darwin, animal breeders could have explained it to you.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
