I submit to people who have a legitimate authority over me(i.e. Boss, Parents, etc.) in situations where that authority is appropriate. In my personal life I am the only authority that I should have to answer to.

It is totally okay to break ANY rules that are inconvenient or "outdated"
In certain case yes and in others no, it is not an either/or situation, In most cases a rule, inconvenient or not is a rule, but in some cases it is outdated and no longer applies (i.e. African-Americans only count as 3/5 of a person, blasphemy laws, etc.)
Being looked upon favorably by society is important
Most Atheists I know do not give a flying fuck how society looks upon them, In fact atheists know that they are considered the most untrusted minority group in the US, yet they still claim the title "Atheist". Kinda disproves your theory, don't it?

That's a christian value. Why would an atheist want to maintain a status quo that looks down on and distrusts them?

That's a decidedly Christian value. Atheists are one of the most diverse groups around, The only universal idea in atheism is that there is no god

Man's authority comes down from a scientist, a middle man
Atheists do not claim that any authority comes from any scientist. And as far as middle men go... isn't it christians who need a preacher/priest/holy book to tell them what their god wants? What are the authors of the bible but middle men?
We must trust other people who speak about evolution, not ourselves when we speak to God
Atheists do not blindly trust anyone who talks about evolution, In fact not all atheists subscribe to evolutionary theory, and the ones that do generally trust information that comes from expirements that can and have been reproduced, in many cases time and time again. Also Atheists do not think that a god speaks to them, or that they can speak to god, because they don't belive in any gods.
