So all those dead animals and birds and fish layed there for millions, or billions of years while the layers covered them at a rate of 1/4in. every million years or so and they didn't decay, they just laid there till they were covered?
Now that's extrordanary science.
How did that work?

(next post)
I seen it again the other day on the news, that man is 94% the same as Apes. They said man and Apes came from the same ancester because of it.
But does that really make it so?
A cloud is 96% water
A water mellon is 96% water
A jellie Fish is 96% water
Did they all come from the same ancester?
The other 4% makes a big diferance I would say, but science seems to not take the other 4% into account. IMO

Wow! Your command of the English language makes everything you say about science seem rather silly, since most scientists I know of are extremely intelligent, and possess doctorates that they have worked extremely hard to acquire from prestigious universities. All this, unlike you, that apparently failed elementary English.
The rate at which things get covered is not constant at every locale, dinkwad. Nor is the type or size of the particles settling on the object (dead plant or animal).
Birds and fish ARE animals.
As to your other question, YES, jellyfish and watermelon DO share a common ancestor. Clouds are not living beings, therefore, your inclusion of them in your argument is inappropriate and shows the level of your thinking to be exceptionally low.
sodapop, I sincerely doubt it.
Here we go again with damned-EPIC fail.
Does anyone actually feel like fully rebuking this guy? I went to the thread to see whether anyone had yet, but they have mod-approved membership there, so it's gonna be a wait to see a truckload o'fail
<headdesk>
The stupid it burns!
Scientists decide similarity based on DNA not physical composition. And clouds are not living things and do not have DNA. Therefore clouds do not share a common ancestor with watermelons and jellyfish. Watermelons and jellyfish do share a common ancestor, but it's not because they are both made mostly of water.
You fucking fail at science. Get thee to a science classroom.
Just so you all know:
"I seen" is officially my least favorite grammatical error, ever.
"I seen it." NO NO NO. You *saw* it. Or you *have seen* it.
Of course, the rest of the post is grammatically awful too (and don't get me started on the actual content!) but the "I seen it" really gets my goat.
I just had to share that with someone. Sorry.
Well a watermelon and a jellyfish did come from the same ancester.
Our own DNA is almost 50% the same as a banana.
Too bad this goober doesn't realize that DNA and water are two totally different things.
Clouds don't have DNA

You know, with this level of intelligence we have little to truly fear from fundies. The only advantage they have is numbers . . .

Not only is this someone who doesn't grasp basic science, but their command of English is equally poor.
Isn't home schooling wonderful...
DNA =/= Water
EPIC FAIL!!!
Do us a favor K, and leave the speculation & analysis to people with Brain.
Then again, if you try a bit harder, your ludicrous will overwhelm your pathetic, much to our entertainment.
Here's something for you to ponder: Woodchucks. Why do they call'em Woodchucks?
{ sodapop
Is a water mellon really 96% water? }
I think Andrew Mellon is about 97% water, like all of us.
For that matter sodapop may be more like 99%+
*Actually, fossilization occurs very quickly, under very specific conditions. That's why we don't have a fossil of every single thing that ever died. You should have paid attention in science class.
*A cloud is 100% water. Plus, it's not a living thing. See my previous statement about science class.
*You made those percentages up.
*Genetically, a watermelon and jellyfish are much farther apart.
*Learn to spell, twit.
Moar phail than your average fundie... nope actually this is right on par.
"So all those dead animals and birds and fish layed there for millions, or billions of years while the layers covered them at a rate of 1/4in. every million years or so and they didn't decay, they just laid there till they were covered?"
Uhm... YES THEY DID DECAY, THAT'S WHY WE ONLY SEE THEIR BONES!!
Yes, of course water mellons and clouds came from the same ancestors. One day a river and an ocean fell in love and they gave birth to coke bottles, water mellons, clouds and swimming pools.
If they formed into fossils, they were covered quickly and was kept from decaying somehow. A very small percentage of lifeforms form into fossils, most just rot away.
A cloud is not a species, it doesn't reproduce. The water melon and the jelly fish do come from the same ancestor, way, way back.
Most lifeforms are similar; the take in energy, they spend energy, they form seed of some sort that they mix with other seed to produce offspring. Seeing, walking, breathing works similarly in all mammals.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
