Is there a particular reason for this opposition to Christianity? Is your religion based on actively opposing mine?

You're begging the question. Has MrCellophane somehow wronged you by not choosing to be a Christian?
[Is your religion based on actively opposing mine?]
No. Why would you think it would be?
"After being spiritually apathetic for years, I converted to Wicca in high school."
Years?
A fucking teen-ager talks about years?
@Quantum Mechanic: Technically we don't know that he's still a teenager. All we know is that his conversion took place at that time. But yeah, "years" sounds like he's stretching the truth a bit.
Wow, I didn't realize that Wiccans actively opposed Christianity! Guess I'd better go get my devil-worshiping kit, then, shouldn't I?
Oh my fucking god, I hate fundies. Someone tell me this is a Poe. The Wiccan (which is a far, far better religion than christianity) said NOTHING about "opposing" christianity. You only perceive it that way because you're indoctrinated to think that everything that doesn't agree with you is automatically opposed to you. And no, you dumb fuckwad, Wicca is not "actively opposed" to yours. Wicca (or at least it's beliefs and practices) pre-dates christianity by thousands of years. So Wicca CANNOT be BASED on opposing christianity. However, christianity is a religion based on opposing every other religion, common sense, logic, reason, goodwill, kindness, understanding, love, charity, mercy, peace, philosophy, science, humanity, etc. etc. So you can just STFU and DIAF.
Is there a particular reason for this opposition to Christianity?
Have you stopped beating your children?
Is your religion based on actively opposing mine?
That sentence contains toxic levels of irony.
Why, yes, Orwell, that's exactly what we do! Our sacred rites include ants dumped onto your lawn and itching powder in your laundry detergent, because that's just how we Orwell-hatin' Pagans roll!
Let me put this really simple for you, kay? For this example, there are two umbrellas, under one umbrella is Christianity, under the other umbrella is wicca. Completely seperate. Now under the umbrella with Christianity is Satanism, Satanism exists in opposition to Christianity. Satanism and Wicca are not related in anyway either, as they exist under different umbrellas. Is that simple enough for you?
Well, I'm Wiccan and do not think I have any opposition to Christianity. My complaints are your complaints and misinformation against non-Christians. You guys think we sacrifice babies, drink blood, ride brooms(I wish) and have an awesome ability to shoot sparks out of our fingertips.
Actually hate to wreck your arrogant little hypocritical fundie persecution fantasy Orville, but if the Christians and Mulims would leave other religions alone, no one would bother them. Islam and Christianity are the only two religions that actively oppose others.
Hi. A recent convert from Christianity to Wicca here - and I have to say the conversion was, all around, an amicable one. I have one world view, and some other people have other kinds of a world views. I have never had any problem with many ideas that Christianity has. What I had problem with was, coincidentally, the idea that you can't take good ideas from outside and that people get murderous if you dare to think otherwise. In short, if you want people to stay in Christianity, be tolerant of other people and ideas and don't be paranoid like this.
On the one hand, MrCellophane probably just didn't want to hear MORE from the religion everyone already knows about.
On the other hand, Orwell has a point. Just not a terribly good one.
Is there a particular reason for this opposition to Christianity? Is your religion based on actively opposing mine?
Actually, you misunderstood, Orwell. MrCellophane did not become Wiccan to oppose Christianity, he became Wiccan to oppose you , personally. That's why I, and the billions of other non-Christians all choose to be non-Christian. To oppose you, personally.
Confused?
