According to my definition Einstein was not atheist. A scientist maybe. But that isn't atheism. Atheism is not scientific. I'm not saying atheist are useless morons. But I am saying that no-body ever made history for very long being one. Because they just arn't that smart.
Sure you can gather together all the people who have being atheists. But I would argue that they didn't contribute anything that will allow them to be remembered for a very long time about anything that significant.

According to my definition Einstein was not atheist.
True, he was most likely a pantheist.
A scientist maybe. But that isn't atheism.
The two aren't mutually exclusive, in fact most scientist are atheist, agnostic or ignostic (ie, they don't care if there's a god or not).

Alfred Nobel
Voltaire
Abraham Lincoln
Stephanie Kwolek (invented kevlar)
Alan Turing

Ayaan Hirsi Ali
George Holyoake
Ellen Johnson
Madalyn Murray O'Hair
And More
But please, continue, your fucknuttery amuses me.
Abraham Lincoln would disagree.
As would Andrew Carnegie.
And Benjamin Franklin.
And James Madison.
And John Adams.
And Voltaire.
And Galileo Galilei.
And Richard Dawkins.
And Freidrich Nietzsche.
And Gene Roddenberry.
And Napoleon Bonaparte.
And John Lennon.
And Walt Disney.
And Alfred Hitchcock.
And Irving Berlin.
And George Orwell.
And Charles Schultz.
And Mark Twain.
And Vincent Van Gogh.
And Thomas Edison.
And Sigmund Freud.
And hundreds of others.
...and if you don't think any of these people contributed to society in a positive way, it think you have to lift up that big rock you've been living under.
Sorry, but who's the moron?. If there's something that characterise Atheist(and even hard-line Christians agree on that)is that, for the tiny proportion of the population they represent, they are disproportionally represented in the number of relevant figures in our history(take Marx, Voltaire, who was rather agnostic, Isaac Peral, Sartre, Carl Sagan.................). And for similar reasons, the same happens with Quakers, Catholics, Persis in India, etc....................do a little research.
"According to my defintion Einstein was not atheist."
Your definition is irrelevent. Instead you could look at facts such as what Einstein actually said on the topic.
"But I would argue that they didn't contribute anything that will allow them to be remembered for a very long time about anything that significant."
You mean like for example Bill Gates?
"Atheism is not scientific. "
Really?
"Religion is an insult to human dignity."
-Steven Weinberg
"Religion is all bunk."
-Thomas Edison
Kill yourself.
Now.
"I do not believe in the immortality of the individual, and I consider ethics to be an exclusively human concern with no superhuman authority behind it." - Albert Einstein
Just one of the quotes that can be found on one of the hundreds of websites that provide information about famous atheists, agnostics, and freethinkers.
Yes, since that religion never helped us, nobody should believe in it, but seeing as how Christians invented charity and schools and freaking paper clips, let's give them moneys.
You fail at percentages, logic, and reason. Why does it matter what atheists do?
I think fundamentalists would instantly be forgotten, or remembered simply for their ritualized stupidity. I can't think of a single positive thing to come from their mental blankness.
Those people who set out to improve the lot of the human race, were the same people who conspicuously gave g0d the finger.
If you want to accuse others of not being smart, make sure you proofread your text extra carefully.
You have to be VERY clueless to not know that atheism is a world view, and scientist is a profession. Just as you can be an Episcopalian and a gardener, you can be an atheist and a scientist, or an agnostic and a freight forwarder.
Not many made history merely for being a Christian either. It's more common to be remembered for what you DO, rather than for what you believe in.
"According to my definition Einstein was not atheist"
According to historical fact, Einstein was a non-practicing Jew.
I define you, Mystic7, as a moron.
The evidence of your words proves that fact.
Confused?
