The Times opposes bans on same-sex marriage because they are "based on nothing more substantive than a belief in the immorality of homosexuality."

My word, immorality is not a good enough reason to ban sodomy? If morality is not the bedrock of our laws, then they all rest on shifting sand and we might as well recognize as "normal" adultery, polygamy, prostitution and the like. After all, proponents of these aberrations have as valid a claim to discrimination as do homosexuals.

Bob Morris #fundie articles.latimes.com

[Bob] Morris said he made his discoveries after talking to some knowledgeable constituents and conducting "a small amount of Web-based research." He said the discussion and research led to his conclusions that the Girl Scouts encourage sexual activity, are a front for Planned Parenthood, and that scouts are encouraged to look up to role models who endorse feminist, lesbian and Communist agendas.

He also noted a Colorado troop's decision to allow a transgendered boy to join, adding that the fact that First Lady Michelle Obama is honorary president of the Girl Scouts of America "should give each of us reason to pause before our individual and collective endorsement of the organization."

His comments were made in a letter he circulated among fellow lawmakers that was obtained by the Journal Gazette of Fort Wayne, Ind. The letter explains why Morris refused to add his name to a resolution celebrating the 100th anniversary of the scouting organization. The resolution was passed unanimously by those who chose to vote. Morris suggested that in the days ahead lawmakers will remove their names from the resolution in the wake of his revelations.

Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati #fundie articles.latimes.com

(snipped from a larger article for brevity)

[...]Guardian Council chief Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati told worshipers during his Friday sermon that to stay silent on the issue of improper hijab, or veil, amounts to a mortal sin. He likened women whose hair peaks out from under their scarves to hardened criminals.

"Drug traffickers are hanged, terrorists are executed and robbers are punished for their crimes, but when it comes to the law of God, which is above human rights, [some individuals] stay put and speak about cultural programs," Jannati said, referring to Ahmadinejad.

"Shall we let badly-veiled women be free in the society corrupt our youth?" he added.
