Whaaaaaaaa - who corrupted who's religion?
Damn it's always amusing trying to explain to fundies that the Messiah, was basically a King, nothing more, and when Jesus claimed to be Messiah, it was King of the Jews, nothing more.
Of course a few tall tales (most of which were snitched from the subcontinent) and 3 centuries later and they're voting to make him a God.
Sheeeesh!
The Jews asked for Jesus' death, they, as a nation under the subjugation of Rome, had no authority to actually put him to death. Jesus was executed by the Romans, so take this up with Good Pope Rottweiler. Let us know how it works out.
Not to mention the fact that Jesus himself specifically said, while on the cross, "Fogive them, Father, for they know not what theu do."
As a Christian, I have to propose the fact that if Jesus personally requests forgiveness for someone, they are absolutely, certainly forgiven. And if Jesus forgave the Jews, why are his followers still carrying a major hate-chubby for them? Just doesn't make sense.
Then again, you have Acts Chapter 3, where Peter tells the crowd of Jews, the same Jews who had demanded that Jesus die instead of Barabas, that they acted "out of ignorance," and that all happened "as God intended."
Seems a bit of a problem to blame the Jews if A) Jesus forgave them, B) Peter preached forgiveness and salvation to them, and C) it was all as God intended it to be.
The whole, "Jesus was a Jew" argument is unneessary. The Jews are blameless because essential Biblical content absolves them. Jesus, himself, absolved them.
Well, since it was all supposedly part of "God's" plan, doesn't that make "God" an anti-christ?
Book of God 3:16 from the BFD translation says "For I so loved the world that I gave my only begotten self, to myself, to appease my own anger at my own creation, that whosoever believeth in me should not escape me, but be forced to live with me forever."
Well, since it was all supposedly part of "God's" plan, doesn't that make "God" an anti-christ?
If you were to follow scion's logic, yeah. This could be fun.
god = antichrist. plain and simple. god killed him, corrupted his religion (hey, this part makes about as much sense as the original!) and is just a douche bag in general.
That's right, completely ignore the very core of biblical Christianity to keep hating people who, according to your own Bible, are explicitly absolved on multiple counts (not to mention the fact that the ones alive now are 2,000 years removed from the ones who were alive then anyway).
How very Christian of you.[/sarcasm]

Sorry man, in any case CHRIST CORRUPTED THEIR RELIGION, for one, he was a Jew, second, he was correcting some aspects(bear in mind that they could sell daughters into slavery). How are they going to be the antichrist if they exist long before he was born?, how are they going to corrupt a religion which didn´t exist yet?, how was John going to tell a story of SOMETHING that was well-known to EVERYBODY?
my question is how did jews corrupt Jesus' religion? To corrupt, you need to be part of something, and the last time i checked, jesus' religion is christianity, and the jews are well jews.
Confused?
