I would be willing to bet that alot of people would not be as irritated at gay marriage of the gays would just stop forcing down our throats all the time. Live your life how you want, just keep it private. If you smear it all over the media, then people will get upset about it. Stop trying to force the majority to accept your way of life. I personally feel that homosexual relations is wrong and is not the way nature intended since it does nothing to sustain the species. However, I feel that people should be able to do what makes them happy as long as it does not affect anyone else. It really aggravates me to keep hearing about how gays are demanding the same rights and benefits as heterosexual couples. Those rights and benefits are in place because the heterosexual family structure is a key necessity of the human race. If you choose to live outside that scructure, fine, just don't expect the rest of us to give in to your demands or accept your way of life.

I would be willing to bet that alot of people would not be as irritated at fundamentalism of [sic ] the fundies would just stop forcing down our throats all the time. Live your life how you want, just keep it private. If you smear it all over the media, then people will get upset about it. Stop trying to force the majority to accept your way of life. I personally feel that fundamentalism is wrong and is not the way reason intended since it does nothing to sustain rationality. However, I feel that people should be able to do what makes them happy as long as it does not affect anyone else. It really aggravates me to keep hearing about how fundamentalists are demanding more rights and benefits than the rest of us. Those rights and benefits are unconstitutional because this is a secular country for all people. If you choose to live outside that scructure, fine, just don't expect the rest of us to give in to your demands or accept your way of life.
There. Fixed it for you.
Okay, I'll let all the gay couples who adopted children out of foster care know that they're destroying the foundations of America.
And you have to get irritated about it. That's how it gets done. And you know what? A lot of gay people think the thought of sleeping with someone of the opposite gender is just as icky as you think sleeping with someone of the same sex is. They just don't make their squeamishness doctrine or law, and they don't scream at you about how you're going to burn for it.
That said, why is this fundie? This is pretty mainstream... the majority opinion goes something along these lines.
You might want to consider exactly who it is that is keeping the gays in the spotlight.
Hint: It ain't the gays.
Oh, you still can't figure it out? Okay, I'll tell you. The people keeping gay marriage in the spotlight are...
THE PEOPLE WHO HATE THE GAYS!
"Stop trying to force the majority to accept your way of life."
Thankfully, you braindead fools aren't the majority.
Capital punishment doesn't stop crime, but it cuts way down on recidivism. That being said, there's more of straight people trying to force their 'lifestyles' down our throats than the reverse. Hot women are used to sell everything from cars to shaving cream, are they aiming these ads to women? I don't even want to think about the ads for paper towels sold by big husky but sensitive lumberjacks. BTW every time a straight couple walk down the street hand in hand they're flaunting their straightness. Get over it numbnuts
no, see, ACTUALLY, food, shelter and SEX are 'necessities' for the race to survive.
And one of these your people have a really, really big problem with if anyone's deriving any pleasure from it. Though for all of your hating it, you're sure obsessed by it. Especially gay sex. Its all some of you think about isn't it.
I was kind of with he/she/it right up until this:

How is giving equal rights automatically making everyone like or even accept something? Blacks gained civil righst years ago, but God knows racism is still alive.
You, sir, are an idiot. I know lots of gay couples who have very loving, beautiful, healthy, great families. One of these couples (who are Christians, by the way) adopted two little boys from Southern Asia. You will never convince me that growing up in poverty in an orphanage is better than having two dads.
A man and a woman doesn't necessarily make a family. Love does. Please go away and never talk again.

If you smear it all over the media, then people will get upset about it.
Who is "you"?
I feel that people should be able to do what makes them happy as long as it does not affect anyone else. It really aggravates me to keep hearing about how gays are demanding the same rights and benefits as heterosexual couples.
How does this make sense? He says first that "people should be able to do what makes them happy as long as it does not affect anyone else". Then he turns around and says that people who don't do what makes him happy should have less rights and benefits.
1. Gay marriage being legal in no way forces you to agree with it.
2. Eliminate every heterosexual image from the media, then talk about the homosexual ones, plz.
3. Humans do lots of things that don't "help sustain the species," and you're probably not against them. Is it wrong to go to theme parks? After all, it's fun but doesn't help sustain the species.
I actually agreed with much what he said about sexual privacy and how homosexuality how people should do what makes them happy if it doesn't hurt anyone else.
But then I slammed into this
It really aggravates me to keep hearing about how gays are demanding the same rights and benefits as heterosexual couples.
and I felt like I had been lead on.
I would be willing to bet that every homophobe who uses the term, "Forcing (homosexuality) down our throats" is merelyi projecting their own twisted, homosexual, orgy-rape fantasies.
"I would be willing to bet" can start a lot of sentances, but it doesn't add that element of truth now does it?
I would be willing to bet that you've just agreed with me, and you are begging everyone's forgiveness. YOu are sorry for your "irritation" by gay people for having the audacity to claim a right to equal treatment.
I'd also be willing to bet that at least one of your children is going to be gay, so maybe you want to lighten up.
Yes, there's the obvious "I'll 'keep it private' only as much as straight people 'keep it private'," which was my own first reaction.
Then there's the phrase "the heterosexual family structure." With the use of that phrase, CPSC demonstrates that s/h/it has a complete lack of awareness of sociology and anthropology. (Sure, one could conclude the same from s/h/it's username, but still...)
@Not_You: this might be majority/mainstream opinion, but if that's the case then majority/mainstream opinion is fundie!
It's funny. If a hetero couple walks down the street hand-in-hand, people like the OP don't consider it brazen propaganda aimed at "turning everyone straight" and shoving straightness in everyone's face. If a same-sex couple walks down the street that way, however...
I'm with you, Sophie.
It tends to be something like this:
Scenario 1: A straight couple walks down a sidewalk in the Bible Belt, hand-in-hand, pausing for a kiss before entering a shop. One person, maybe two, takes notice and remarks, "That's so sweet."
Scenario 2: A gay couple walks down a sidewalk in the Bible Belt, hand-in-hand, pausing for a kiss before entering a shop. Twenty people notice, and at least one starts screaming about the "filthy homos," punctuating their rant with bible verses and maybe even threats of violence.
Both of these are equally likely, and I have even witnessed a similar situation to the 2nd scenario myself.
The only difference is the gender of one member of the couple.
So tell me, CPSC, when are heterosexuals going to stop "trying to force the majority to accept [their] way of life"?
SophieEleven and #283083: Absolutely true. Not long ago, I noticed the cover page of the Sunday Style section of the New York Times that contained a photo of two men kissing. It wasn't overtly sexual or anything; they were just standing in an urban setting and sharing a chaste kiss. I thought it was no big deal, but the woman behind me didn't think so. She made a sound of disgust and complained about the newspaper's "audacity" to show something like that, on the front page, no less! I wondered if her reaction would have been the same had it been a photo of a straight couple making out. The double standard is sad, it really is.
Using this dipwads logic, eugenics should be practiced so no children will be born with any kind of handicap that would prevent them from being able to procreate. As a single mother, I can tell you that there are many, many married hetero parents who aren't doing half as well at raising a healthy, well adjusted child as I am. If I can do it, so can two mommies or two daddies.
Stop trying to force the majority to accept your way of life. I personally feel that black relations is wrong and is not the way nature intended since it does nothing to sustain the species. However, I feel that people should be able to do what makes them happy as long as it does not affect anyone else. It really aggravates me to keep hearing about how blacks are demanding the same rights and benefits as white couples. Those rights and benefits are in place because the white family structure is a key necessity of the human race. If you choose to live outside that scructure, fine, just don't expect the rest of us to give in to your demands or accept your way of life.
