Hmmm... the roman emperors prayed daily, gave sacrifices, went to services in temples ... the same for all chinese emperors.

Crusades, Witch-Hunts, the Inquisition, the Conquistadores, the "Troubles" in Northern Ireland, the unspeakable atrocities of the Jugoslav Wars in the 90s, the 30-yr war (one of the major religious christian conflicts, killed up to 70% of the populace in certain regions of Germany)
People don't kill in the name of athiesm. That is not to say all atheist are good people, because they aren't. But Joseph Stalin did not kill people because he was an atheist, he killed because of other dogma that merely replaces religious dogma.

Here's the thing: Atheism isn't A Belief it's the absence of a belief in a God or Theology.
Tons of stupid, uncaring, malitious crap is realized in both concepts. Religion's winning the torturous, opressive and unfeeling awards for the last 3000 years. The last 50 too.
Um....except both the Romans empire and the Chinese Dynasties had gods....the Romans had the Jovian religion, which borrows heavily from a mix of the Hellenic, or Greek, gods, and indiginous deities from the surrounding Italian city-states. And China had gods for every single household in the country.
So again, you're confusing non-Christian with atheist. Just because they don't worship YOUR god, doesn't mean they don't worship ANY god.

And the conservative Christian man known as Adolph Hitler tried to exterminate an entire race , killing 6 million of them in the process, and millions more.
And then you have the Crusades. The atrocities committed by the Christians likely number in the millions here as well.
