It is a contradiction that an atheist can believe in philosophy.
It does not make sense.
Philosophy is love of wisdom.
Wisdom is not only knowledge.
Wisdom is also establish our consciousness within the core of supreme consciousness and that is to become one with God.
Why wisdom can not be achieve right here within this universal arena?
How can be possible to achieve any real knowledge within a finite arena in which everything is moving and changing all the time and in which there is no progress?
You achieve something with one hand and loose something else with the other.
You can go from point A to point B with your car and that save you a lot of time but at the same time your car pollute the air, your legs and your body are getting weaker because you sit on your arse instead of walking and there is the danger that you can die in a traffic accident.
You show me something that come without the negative effect and i will cover you in gold.
In other words all we do within this universe is done in order to stay afloat not to progress and where there is not progress there is no wisdom.
So wisdom has got to be found elsewhere but that require a different approach once you get rid of the idea dogma that a supreme consciousness is not there.

And - seeing as I only accept facts, and refuse to have anything to do with the concept of 'Believing' - does your argument fall flat on it's face at Step 0, has fallen into the Abyss of FAIL, and is still falling.

After all, you cannot spell 'Believe' without the word LIE.

I've never owned a car:

1- I've never learned how to drive one.

2- They cost too fucking much.

3- I wouldn't trust myself behind the wheel of one.

4- Mechanically, they're more trouble than they're worth. Too many moving parts, thus any can fail at any time, and in a hyper-complex way to repair easily/cheaply.

5- ?????

...instead, I've always owned bikes. I've worked in a bike shop, thus I know how to build/repair such. And are infinitely cheaper to build; also, no MOT, insurance etc required; and VAT, once paid on such. Once you've bought/built it, and have lights/helmet/lock/basic tools etc, that's it.

...and cycling is far more efficient than walking; and faster. Just as healthy too.

Hope you've got an unlimited account with a South African gold mine, Ricky. because I have proven that transport - on which I can go from point A to point B - is possible without the negative aspects you suggest, and is wise for the health-conscious sort such as me - and is ultra-wise for the wealth-conscious sort such as me [/penny-pinching Yorkshireman] - therefore...!

Philosophy is rather love of discussion and argumentation, silly.
Wisdom is not only knowledge, that's right. It's also experience. Wisdom has nothing to do with any gods, as there are wise men and women in all religions and among atheists.

Your world seem very flimsy, honey. Why don't you join us out here in the real world? We have an infinite Universe, where everything is moving and changing in predictable patterns, and in which there is infinite progress.

When I kiss my husband, he gets happy and I get happy from seeing him happy. No negative effect that I can think of...

We have learned an enormous amount of things since the first Homo split away from the first Pan. That is progress, that is wisdom, endless discussions about that is philosophy.

Atheism is the LACK of dogma, silly. Why is it not enough for you dolts to be alive in this marvelous Universe, on this interesting rock floating around in it, to live with other people, to learn from them and teach them, and hopefully contribute to the world being a little bit better when we leave it, than it was when we came here? That is wisdom!

Told y'all the ramblings of William Laing Craig have created a bunch of fundies who now think philosophical ideas are born from Christian doctrine. AND that philosophies are all evident truths in their new world Christianity (despite many being free of any religious doctrine) along with phychics, ghosts and every other wackadoo idea ever thought up.

Truth is students of philosophy are the ultimate cherry pickers but usually with a bend to reality. No philosophy is absolute or without flaws so they're educated to pick the best working parts of the many available in the search for a more logical or dominant ideal existance.

Doesn't matter in the end either as religion and cultural influences would scrag the most ideal society everytime. The ideal that mankind should be free and equal for example, long ago envisioned yet never realized.

I think this philosophical approach is some sort of assumption from Christians that if we're not religious we must be tied by some philosophy and we can be conned into religious belief bt comparing the two. Even Bill O'Reilly argued the Bible should be brought into schools as a philosophy subject.

Won't work guys. Most Atheists know the difference and most Atheists shun philosophies as they're also assertion-based idealisms.

It's important to understand the logic and knowledge behind some philosophies as a means to know the difference between those and the many philophocies that are as wackadoo and destructive as religion.

I do believe in and understand philosophy, the process, as in reckoning or deductive conclusions as the logically understand society and reality. My understanding of this process eliminates all religion and supernatural nonsense.
