Wow. I'm on the Net. That's just plain scary.
-agreed
Now to the comments given. I am a Christian, yes. I am not afraid to say it. First of all, I don't even know how my comment ended up on the rest of the Net, but since it is, we'll deal.
-you posted on the internet, how is that confusing for you?
God gave mankind the responsibility to subdue the earth and fill it (have kids who have kids who have kids, etc.). This is what marriage is for. Before you get married is the time to learn how to be a good husband or wife. Afterwards is the time to enjoy the pleasures of marriage and use what you have learned. Even Jews would wait a while to have their kids though. If I remember correctly, they waited at least a year or two. This was to allow them to get used to each other. That way, when they started having kids, their relationship as husband and wife would be solid - not based on sex and kids. (The man is to be the head of the house, the wife is with him as his sole support, and the kids are to be under them both. It would be wrong to put the kids up with their parents. That is not how God instituted the family.) If a man a his wife decide not to have kids, I believe that is a direct violation of God's command - sin. On the other hand, don't get married just to have kids prolifically. Yes, I'm sure marital pleasures are fun. But as with everything, there is a time for it.
- You believe that, but that doesn't make it true. There is no God, the bible is not literally true so none of that is relevant.
Extra Notes:
People were married when they were younger because they matured a good bit quicker than teens, etc. do now.
-That's not true at all. Children mature more quickly now because of improved nutrition. People got married earlier in the past because it was the social norm.
It won't kill you to refrain from sex before you get married. Wouldn't you like it if someone had had sex with someone else and could compare you to the other person? Just a thought.
- No it won't kill you to refrain from sex till you get married. Well, there could be some health problems if you refrain from masturbation. I don't think that most people are concerned about being compared to another person sexually. You could also compare other things, like looks, wealth, personality etc.
If anyone has any other questions, I suggest you find a Bible (ESV) and read it. It has the answers for life.
- I think you are the one who needs to do some reading. First of all, history. Perhaps you could learn about the history of oxytocin. Second, anthropology. There are more cultures in this world than yours. Most don't believe in Jesus.
