On a serious note, USSR under Stalin had many spectacular achievements (like 100% literacy, 100% employment, free healthcare etc.) alongside with failures. Its a long topic for discussion, in short, in 1930-1950s USSR managed to build an alternative society which was different from capitalism and more fair. This is the only alternative to capitalism which ever existed (not on paper or in dreams, but in reality), so as a communist I will always uphold and defend Soviet Union (which doesn't exclude criticism of course).

Let me guess who told you that there was 100% literacy, employment etc. in the UDSSR. Was it perhabs, oh I don't know, soviet documents?
If I remember correctly there was even a time during the soviets reign in which murder wasn't allowed to be made public because "in a perfect system like communism crime doesn't exist". They did everything they could to hide the problems of their "utopia" and you just believe anything they wrote back in the day without question? So much for allowing "criticism".
Okay for one thing he is actually right, soviets did increase literacy tremendously everywhere in their dominion. In Poland we had illiteracy at something about 50% or even more back in the second republic and PRL actually went to(almost) 100% literacy in a very short time, they also implemented universal healthcare which, working as it was, it was still ages ahead of what happened during the much louded second republic.
I'd have agreed if it didn't say it was more fair than capitalism. In Western Europe you had the Obviously mercantillist/socialist labor unions, worker rights, human rights and civil rights, not to mention trends such as environmentalism, pacifism, and LGBT-rights. Except for civil rights (and even that was severely lacking) none of those things were present in the Soviet Union. It's Always easy to blame capitalism for everything, but in many ways the Soviet Union was more capitalist than the NATO itself.

Criticise this.
(From Wiki link; emphasis added ):
In September 2017, a high-ranking official in the Russian Ministry of Culture said the Russian authorities were considering a ban on the film, which, he alleged, could be part of a "western plot to destabilise Russia * by causing rifts in society."
...but you have Vlad Putain:

Who could never be compared to Stalin, amirite...?! >:D
Oh, and a 96% rating on Rotten Tomatoes proves both of you wrong .
*- And thus every Irony Meter in the world goes supernova.

Fundies don't even try to be convincing when they lie anymore. It's like listening to a bunch of five year olds arguing about who caught the most impressive magical talking unicorn in their backyard.
@skide:
Well, it is true that our interbellum government of colonels was kind of shitty. But do remember that 100% employment was fake all the way through. "We pretend to work and they pretend to pay us", remember?
Yup, and some of the countries in the Middle East have no homosexuals, whatsoever, and no cases of rape.
It's all about what you choose to report, dearie.
Communism is a good idea, but as people are usually greedy and want more than they strictly need, it will never work with actual humans.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
