What the devil are these Indian firms doing here anyway? And don’t their recruiting policies look a little bit like racism, which we all know Indians excel at?

What, so people can actually be recruited into being Indian now?
And are you sure that it's Indian firms going to you, and not the other way around? I'm pretty sure it's the other way around.
I am Indian ethnically and a lot more british than the BNP. Both my grandfather and his father fought for the British during WW1 and WW2 respectively. One died in the line of duty and is buried somewhere in a mass grave. We don't know where it is because no one cared about Indians back then...
Firstly, those firms are some of the best IT firms in the world. Its like buying a Reliant Robin when you could pay the same price for a much better car. I am not a free market person but I do understand the point of quality. If your market is not exposed to the best, then you cannot match the best.
Secondly, the UK does not have large quantities of IT professionals running around. Particularly ones who the BNP are interested in. The BNP's base voters are unfortunately the kind of people who have not changed with the times. The economic shennanigans of Thatcher left a lot of people without jobs.
I can't remember where I saw this cartoon, so I'll just have to describe it.
There's a turbaned gentleman sitting in his living room. Through the window you can see the Taj Mahal. He's just put the phone down. He looks annoyed.
"Damned American call centres," he says to his wife, "Some of them can barely speak Hindi!"
We have the same problem here, except in the United States, it's gas stations. You can't go into a gas station here without having to deal with a swami. Also, tech support. When youc all up for tech support, you get a swami. Ditto for a lot of other informational things. Swamis suck.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
