Bullshit. You don't need religion to have freedom, I don't get the connection.
Prove there is a soul. No one communes with a god, they only think they do, ie they are deluded.
Mitt, you have to face the fact that you were born into a religion that was spectacularly at odds with the nation's founders.
It took a lot of years and a lot of litigation to make it conform to the Constitution.
From what you said in your speech, I can only conclude that you yourself oppose the Constitution (under which you serve) and are seriously at odds with our nation's founders.
Why would anyone vote for a president that is totally fucking ignorant of his own country's history?
Religion requires freedom -- Yes. Freedom to practice any religion you may choose, and even the freedom not to follow any religion is a good thing.

Oh, and as for that supposed relationship between freedom and religion, you'd think that Mormons would have learned something from their own history as a persecuted religious minority.

Ohhhh yes. Keith Olbermann did a lovely deconstruction of the whole thing on his show, Countdown tonight.
He lost my vote long ago when I realized he was a religious nutjob. I don't mind religion so much, but what he said (and has said in the past) tells me his religion matters more to him than running the country, no matter what he says. That whole "freedom requires religion" part isn't even the worst part of it.
But go see Keith's video on the whole deal. He says it much better than I can - because he can be much meaner than I can without being nasty.
