Wtf does going to hell have to do with oil? Maybe the fires of hell are using up all the oil reserves and that is what's making it cost so much. So basically, following this reasoning, the high oil prices are the fault of all us sinners that are going to hell, because Satan is using so much oil to keep the fires burning... I think this is something that we can all agree upon. It doesn't matter really if anything in the Bible appears to be true (even though it is all true).

I thought you just had to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour and metaphorically consume his flesh. Half correct. The earth IS millions of years old, but humans have been around a lot longer than 6000 years. We have Chinese historical records that are 10,000 years old, and various artifacts that are much older.

Petroleum, aka oil, is the remnants of fossilised plant and animal materials, hence it's broader term "fossil fuel". This process takes millions of years, not 6000. Go back to school and actually open a book this time.

Wisconsinan ice sheets of the Pleistocene retreated 10000 years ago, leaving behind moraines like Cape Cod and Long Island, and that is considered very young in geolgic terms, but before the fundie Creation.

I find it funny how people say the world is only 6000 years old because that's what the Bible says. Well most can agree that the Jewish religion (which Christianty came from) is that old. Fair enough...except that before that, the main religions in the area were Egyptian and Babylonian mythology. If the earth is only 6000 years old, then I guess the Egyptian pyramids were spaceships waiting for a planet to live on.

I have a thought; what if God is a scientist, and he rewards people based on their intellectuality?
