Quote# 33965

It's so sad to know Dr. Kent Hovind is in jail. He stood up for his beliefs and that alone is admirable. Satan, which runs the United States & the world, hates Kent because he is waking up so many people to the lies of evolution and bringing people to Christ. Kent taught about the New World Order and secret societies, topics the elite government don't want you to know about. I support Kent Hovind and his ministry 100% and will continue to pray for Kent and his family. It breaks my heart to know how brutal and evil our government really is. God will judge all of those who were involved in putting him in jail. Who would've thought America would be so ungodly, ignorant and unfair.

Wow that sounds like something a normal person would say

I know. It is so unfair that Hovind owed $600,000 to the IRS. It's a cruel, cruel, world.

"Satan, which runs the United States"

"Who would've thought America would be so ungodly"

Proof, surely, that fundies just throw words around without thinking about meanings or putting any consistancy into their arguments.

"He stood up for his beliefs and that alone is admirable"

Yes, the ferocity with which he defied tax laws impressed me too.

"the United States & the world"

Terrifying that you seem to think that the two are completly different things.

Though now that I read it in chunks like this, I think this could be a poe.

One cannot miss, when touring this site, the parts of the forum where they blame "the Jews" who "control" Wikipedia for refusing to allow them to astroturf the Kent Hovind article with links to their site.

He didn't "stand up" for crap. He said he should have gotten a tax break because he had a church. He didn't have a church. He had an amusement park.

This is a whole new level of crazy. I guess there's three types of people: us (the sane), the evil government, and these guys--the batshit crazy. :(

Speaking of ignorant...

He's in jail for tax fraud, not his crazy beliefs.

He didn't stand up for anything. He just realized that all you morons would give him money as long as he told you what you wanted to hear. He just forgot to make the CSE a non-profit organization and to pay his income taxes. Hence the jail thing.

I wish I knew where these people lived so I could 'Preach the Word' all their valuables...

And their credit cards. Think of all the 'Preaching the Word' I could do with their credit cards.

'Course I bet they'd still try to have me arrested. Damned hypocrites.

Kent Hovind is in jail because he did not "render unto Caesar that which is Ceaser's" foo!

Tax fraud is illegal. Unless you can prove that Kent Hovind did not commit tax fraud, stfu.

Apparently fraud and tax evasion are perfectly acceptable conduct in Christianity, right?

And you have the nerve to accuse nontheists of being amoral.

Yes, how dare the government demand taxes from him. After all, he was only doing the Lord's work, which is very expensive.

Behold his museum theme park church.

"He stood up for his beliefs and that alone is admirable."

Maybe, but it's not christian.
Romans 13:6 (NIV) - "This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God's servants, who give their full time to governing."

"Satan, which runs the United States & the world"

Wait, so you're saying the god of the bible and Satan are one and the same person?
Romans 13:1 (NIV) - "Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God."

It's sad that so many are worried about some tax cheat, but don't seem to care about more important problems. Like the possibility of him having a lot more company if the probe into the financial records of megachurches is allowed to continue.
