so I have this best friend of mine, 16yrs old, She actually really is a pretty good christian, She just believes gay marriage is okay and she supports gays. I keep trying to tell her that the bible says its wrong and etc...

She has a few family members that are gay too and I said its okay to support the person not what they are. She clearly can't get this through her head.

Theres also a kid at her school who is a mega-liberal and I believe has an influence on her since he is her friend too.

How can I get this through her head that what she believes is right is actually wrong.

Why is it wrong? You haven't yet explained WHY homosexuality is wrong other than the pitiful explanation, "God said it." Well, according to the Bible, God also prohibited polyester, shellfish, and working on the Sabbath day. How many Christians obey those restrictions?

You can support the person, not what they are? Well I agree that it is possible, it's really only possible for things that are, you know, optional. Like religion, political affiliation, philosophical school of thought, etc. When you leave the realm of ideas, however, it gets messier. It is clear that when you do not support, and actively oppose, an aspect of a person that is not only natural and beyond their control, but not harmful to anyone, that it is not acceptable. But, even habitual actions are a bit iffy when it comes to ability to criticize, due to the fact that they are influenced by environmental and/or natural factors beyond the person's control as well. They also should only be judged if that behavior is harmful.

So....how do homosexuals fit into this? Is sexual orientation decided independent of most other factors, and is it harmful enough to warrant your indignation? Or are you just trying to reconcile your desire to voice displeasure with "teh gheyz" with expectations of remaining non-judgmental (as often as you fall short of that, I am certain)? Because I know my guess.
