Mrs. Antichrist
Christmas has more pagan roots than it does Christian ones. Jesus, if he was even a real person, wasn't born anywhere near December 25th. How about you start celebrating Christ's birthday in the spring, which is a lot closer to when he was actually born. Or, better yet, you could mind your own business, and I'll mind mine. I can celebrate whichever holidays I please.

* sigh *
freshrose_14, The word "Christmas" is only the English word for this particular festive time of the year.
In other more christian countries than your own, you know those with a cross in their flag, a state religion and a state church, the name of the season has nothing to do with Christ, even though those who are Christians have decided to celebrate their fantasy figure at the same time of the year as "Jul" (or in English 'Yule') is celebrated it is not a religious holiday.
But I guess you never learned about other countries in school?

We could explain to you over and over again how Christmas is but a hijacked pagan holiday, but you would just refuse to hear it. Anyway, it has lost most of its religious significance for many people, and is a purely secular holiday for many.

Aren't you guys supposed to stay away from pagan customs?
Go to church on Christmas and leave the trees, feasts and gifts for us heathens.

If you believe in Christ, quit celebrating a holiday rooted in paganism

Judging from your name, you're what, 14 years old? So yeah, come back when you're old enough to have an opinion of your own.

Indeed.
Y'know what Santa gives me if I'm bad? A lump of coal. Then, I get to try again next year. :P

Not going to put Christ back in Christmas because he was never there to begin with.

On the one hand: good point.
On the other: this is basically Festivus. Let's move Christmas to the spring and make it solemn.

If you're not a pagan don't have a Christmas tree, a wreath, mistletoe or celebrate the birth of your supposed savior on or about the winter Solstice.

You're the ones who aren't supposed to have Christmas trees. Haven't you ever read Jeremiah?
Oh, whom am I kidding? Of course they've never read their own holy book.

This "christmas" you're crying about, do you know what it is? Do you understand why it falls at the last two weeks of the year?

Hi freshrose_14, how are your teen spots doing?
To answer your question, we non-believers are picky (no pun intended). We join in the good things that you indulge in quite happily. Conversely, we stay well away from all the bigotry, hatred and hypocrisy that your lot indulge in.
Merry Xmas To freshrose_14 and all at Teen Spots.

Are you a virgin, freshrose? If so, we [Druids of California] have a wonderful role for you in our holy celebration of the Solstice.
Please let us know.

You don't get to tell me what to do, and why would I not celebrate Christmas, after all I'm a "sinner", and Christmas is a fine excuse to engage in the sins of gluttony and greed.

It's not Christmas to me; it's the Winter Solstice and a family reunion. By the way, they didn't have evergreen trees in Bethelhem. Guess where *that* came from?
