Quote# 76216

Mr. Hovind is not a criminal. There are people running this nation that have done much worse things than Kent Hovind would ever consider doing. Mr. Hovind puts Christ 1st in everything he does so it is impossible for him to be guilty of what he has been accused.

Except for all the tax he didn't pay.

Mr. Hovind put money, more money and profit 1st in everything he did. Do you know what your Christ said about that Steve?

Like that kind of petition is really going to achieve anything.

Neither your second nor third sentence even begins to prove your assertion.

Doubting Thomas

Ahh, the old "other people have done worse" argument.

I would have liked to have seen Hovind's lawyer tell the judge that he can't be guilty because he loves Jesus. I'm sure he would have been acquitted.

Mr. Hovind is not a criminal.

Actually, he literally is. He committed a crime ergo he's a criminal. QED.

There are people running this nation that have done much worse things than Kent Hovind would ever consider doing.

Let's assume this is true. That's no defense for his crime. A murderer can't get off for murder by saying that John Wayne Gacy was worse.

Mr. Hovind puts Christ 1st in everything he does so it is impossible for him to be guilty of what he has been accused.

Funny because I find that those with such a fundamentalist mindset are MORE likely to not care about the damage they cause to us mere mortals and are more willing to do absolutely anything necessary (including committing crimes and even atrocities) so that they can get their harps and wings.

There are over 11,000 "signatures" on that. But then, 12% of people think Elvis is still alive, so I don't know if that necessarily means anything other than that there are stupid people everywhere.

"Mr. Hovind is not a criminal."

He's just a very naughty boy ... who committed crimes.

Mr. Hovind calls himself Christ?

There are people running this nation that have done much worse things than Kent Hovind would ever consider doing.

Oh, yeah ... that makes sense: let's let everyone cheat on their taxes, because there are plenty of people who did something even worse ...

Hovind puts Christ in everything he does? Hell, he was actually turned in by a fellow Christian fundamentalist who believed that cheating on your taxes was unchristian. Jesus, after all, paid his taxes (Matthew 17:24-27, Mark 12:17, Matthew 22:21)

"Mr. Hovind is not a criminal."

Mr. Hovind owed, I believe, over a hundred thousand dollars in back taxes and refused to pay despite being given ample opportunity to do so. Mr. Hovind was also manipulating his banking activity in order to avoid having the IRS notified of his transactions so that, he believed, they couldn't track the movement of the money and thereby tax him on it. Both of these things are illegal. Mr. Hovid is thus a criminal.

"There are people running this nation that have done much worse things than Kent Hovind would ever consider doing."

Well, yes. But they're politicians. We expect them to be crooked and on the take. Or is that just me?

Hovind is supposed to be an upstanding, God Fearing, good little Christian that's saving souls and setting an example. Instead, just like most such people, he was a crooked charlatan who was in it for the money. Color me surprised.

"Mr. Hovind puts Christ 1st in everything he does so it is impossible for him to be guilty of what he has been accused."

You're a rube.

Your own Scripture says otherwise:

Luke 20:25 (KJV): 'And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's, and unto God the things which be God's.'

And he didn't Render unto Caesar (or in this case, President George Dumbya Bush, via the IRS). Romans 13:1-7 ring any bells?

Now STFU and take the fact that your bumboy is in jail doing a ten-stretch. Just as ol' Kentypoos is in jail for the next ten years, getting his stretched as the cellblock's bumboy and cumdumpster, and having to take it.

The moral of this story, kiddies: 'If you can't do the time, don't do the crime'. And never forget, rape is the national sport in US prisons. PROTIP: One Word: Deterrence.

Here endeth the lesson.

I feel sad for all the people who actually believe this man to be some kind of spiritual and moral authority.
Seriously, you want to be a creationist?
Fine by me.
It's stupid, but it's your right.

But please, stop following con artists like Hovnid. They are just swindling you of your hard earned money.

Something about rendering unto Caesar?

Were you one of those kids that used to fall on the floor, kicking and screaming, "IT IS NOT MY BEDTIME!" when it clearly was?

Did that EVER work?

"Mr. Hovind puts Christ 1st in everything he does ... "

The problem arose when he tried to list "J.H. Christ" as a dependent.

Sorry Steve, but the law says you're a liar.

It's not Hovind's fault if Jesus wants him to put himself first, before even Jesus. By putting himself before Jesus, he's only doing what Jesus tells him to do, via voice in the head magic communication. And if Jesus tells him to be a liar and tax evader, then what's he going to do? Go against the Lord?

"Mr. Hovind is not a criminal."

Well, from what I hear he kinda committed tax fraud.

"There are people running this nation that have done much worse things than Kent Hovind would ever consider doing."

Yes, well seeing as how he advocates the brutality of Old Testament "morality", it's best we keep him off the streets.

"Mr. Hovind puts Christ 1st in everything he does so it is impossible for him to be guilty of what he has been accused."

Ted Haggard always put Christ first as well. Guess he was falsely accused of that truckstop incident.

Got any more bullcrap?

Mister Spak

"Mr. Hovind puts Christ 1st in everything he does so it is impossible for him to be guilty of what he has been accused."

That makes doing what he was accused of mandatory.

9/21/2010 8:02:15 AM

Lucilius

@JSS: I think you mean that Ted Haggard "put Christ in front."

Hovind was convicted and is in prison. Therefore, criminal.

P.S. U.S. criminal law makes no provisions for the accused's invisible friend in determining guilt or innocence.
Lemme guess, you went to Liberty U Law?
