I think this is stupid. I assume he's talking only to men when he says "it doesn't involve a woman," but even there, he's on thin ice - most straight men would look at images of women or imagine women while masturbating.

The main issue I have with masturbation is that it is a poor substitute for the marital relationship. It is essentially a selfish act, since one gives and receives pleasure to oneself, whereas in the actual sex act, one is giving and receiving pleasure to and from another person. Masturbation is lonely and one sided, and not what God had in mind for sexuality imo.
