I suggest that in the days ahead people are going to point at Bob Morris and laugh.

Thank you, Girl Scouts for being a better organization than the Boy Scouts.
3/2/2012 5:23:08 AM
This Pruritan obsession with the Girl Scouts is starting to worry me. Where is Chris Hansen?
3/2/2012 5:26:07 AM
The Girl Scouts must be a much more progressive organization than I have given them credit for.
I think about the 1950, when women were first and foremost an ornament in the home, when I think of Scouts. But I'm prejudiced, definitely.
"On my honor, I will try:
To serve God and my country,
To help people at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout Law."
" will do my best to be
Honest and Fair,
Friendly and Helpful,
Considerate and Caring,
Courageous and Strong, and
Responsible for what I say and do,
respect myself and others,
use resources wisely,
make the world a better place, and
be a sister to every Girl Scout."
Indeed, both the promise and the law is chock-a-block full with lesbianism and sexual inuendo.
What does Michele Obama have to do with anything else?
Yeah, point and laugh sounds about right...

I like the Girl Scouts. They make awesome cookies and aren't bigoted about who joins.
3/2/2012 6:17:27 AM
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot
Maybe he's confusing Scouts with band camp a la American pie...
3/2/2012 6:22:28 AM
"Morris suggested that in the days ahead lawmakers will remove their names from the resolution in the wake of his revelations."
I suggest that lawmakers will realise that you are a loon in the wake of your revelations.
3/2/2012 6:23:16 AM
talking to some knowledgeable constituents and conducting "a small amount of Web-based research."
Uh huh. Yeah, we all see what's coming next...
Oh! And there it is!
3/2/2012 6:50:23 AM
My sister's a Girl Scout. They are a perfectly innocent organization. I am offended by what Mr. Morris says.
3/2/2012 6:58:54 AM
Morris said he made his discoveries after talking to some knowledgeable constituents and conducting "a small amount of Web-based research."
I did the same thing! And I discovered that the government is actually run by Reptilians who work for the Lou Malnati's! They want one world order so they can make the biggest pizza ever and cover the whole Earth with it, then Cheesus can be resurrected again! One more thing, they plan to implant everyone with nacho chips! It's on the internet, so it MUST be true!

My daughters are girl scouts, fine organization, doing lots of charity work, taking the girls camping and teaching them about nature ... Not every organization is "Jesus Camp"
3/2/2012 7:16:43 AM
And yet I bet he's cheering on the Boy Scouts, who still won't allow gay or atheist leaders.
3/2/2012 7:20:19 AM
"Web-based research" = I looked up a bunch of conspiracy websites making unsubstantiated claims which confirmed my bias.
And isn't every First Lady honorary president of the Girl Scouts? It's not like Michelle Obama is directly running the daily workings of the GSA. I guess Bob doesn't understand the concept of "honorary."
3/2/2012 7:20:50 AM
Damn, those girl scouts should be learning how to bake cookies, make beds, wash dishes and have affairs with powerful, rich men.
3/2/2012 8:39:15 AM
My web-based research revealed that Hitler is alive and living in South America, the population of Nigeria is comprised entirely of rich princes trying to launder money, and that Applejack and Rainbow Dash are actually lesbian lovers.
3/2/2012 8:51:38 AM
They allowed a transgendered GIRL to join, not a boy (but one whom transphobic nutjobs insist is a boy). Boys aren't allowed in to the girl scouts.
3/2/2012 9:03:39 AM
Just think, Bob's vote could have kept the resolution from passing. Too bad Bob.
3/2/2012 9:10:23 AM
And Bob felt so strongly about this issue that he boldly voted against the measure, ensuring that the permanent record would forever reflect his opposition to this depraved organization that is the Girl Scouts. Oh, wait, no he didn't. He didn't even vote. What a chickenshit.
3/2/2012 10:21:29 AM
Well fuck you too, Bob Morris.
3/2/2012 11:07:31 AM
Was the "small amount of web-based research" done exclusively on The Onion website? It would explain a lot.
3/2/2012 11:08:47 AM
I thought the Girl Scouts were pro-Christian? I may be wrong I was never in them and neither is my oldest daughter. They seem like a good organization, though, not as bigoted as the Boy Scouts.
3/2/2012 11:46:34 AM
Bob has a point. When I was a Girl Scout we sang a song set to the tune of She's Coming Around the Mountain about how a woman can do anything a man can. Obviously, my leaders were feminist marxist amurrica-haters.
Michelle Obama has absolutely no power over the Girl Scouts, if she bothers you so much. Look up the word "honorary" in the dictionary. And if you're going to tout your so-called facts, don't make it public knowledge that you did only a small amount of research.
3/2/2012 12:25:13 PM
"a Colorado troop's decision to allow a transgendered boy to join"
She's a girl. That's why she joined the /girl/ scouts.
Just sayin'. I'm not sure why that one detail is what bothered me most today, but, whatever.
3/2/2012 12:30:35 PM
So proud to say I was active in Girl Scouts until I graduated from high school and still do work for them here and there. Also Bob is an idiot.
3/2/2012 1:38:13 PM
Yeah, damned Girl Scouts with their cookie-pushing agenda.
After all these years I'm still crushed because I didn't make it into the Boy Scouts. It may have had something to do with the fact that I'm untrustworthy, disloyal, unhelpful, unfriendly, unkind, discourteous and irreverent.
