To a Torah-thinking Jew, it is unthinkable to look at a reform rabbi preaching his religion as anything else than a spiritual mass murderer. And joining with him is as repulsive, even more so, than joining with a physical murderer. So if you believe your cause if important enough to join with a spiritual mass murderer, you surely would have no qualms with joining with a physical murderer.

No, it's not just the KJV. The Old Testament is full of brutality & mass murder.

Your child disobeys or swears at you? Death for the kid.
Someone cheats on their spouse? Death for the cheater & his accomplice.
Fail to impregnate your dead brother's widow? Death.
Your ox or bull gores someone stupid enough to get close to it? Death for it AND you.

You know how Pharoah & Egypt were punished with plagues & death for not releasing the Jews, according to the Bible? The book outright says that God MADE the Pharoah uncaring & unwilling to free them, simply so God could punish them anyway.

Seriously, mate, read the bloody thing. Genesis, Exodus, and Leviticus are full of blood & murder - and not because "all other options are exhausted." Death is usually the FIRST solution to any inconvenience (like people already living somewhere the Israelites want to move).

Honestly, I hate it when people try to fight bible verses with more bible verses. It never goes anywhere, unless you want to prove that the bible is as violent and nonsensical as it is contradictory and up to interpretation.

More to the point, people pick and choose from the bible anyway. Hell, the overwhelming majority of so-called Christians has never even read the damn thing cover-to-cover, and ignore pretty much all of it most of the time. "Christians" the world over work on Sundays, tattoo themselves, shave, eat shellfish, and wear mixed fabrics. That alone should raise red flags when it comes to fighting whatever misconception a Christian has with biblical verse.

No, it is my firm belief that because the bible has so little to do with a Christian's life anyway, you might as well just grapple with the point itself.

Micharion, God probably doesn't exist. There is absolutely zero proof that he does, and everything in the world indicates that he doesn't. Even if he did, you have absolutely no evidence or inclination that your opinions on how he would behave are any more valid than this fundie.

So instead of opining about what God would do, how about you instead address the clear sociopathy itself of this fundie. It is self-evidently wrong, with or without God.

I can't believe I didn't catch this before. Yeah, that's not how logic works. The burden of proof lies soley with one making a positive claim, i.e. "the Christian God exists." You have to provide evidence of that claim, because the inverse, "the Christian God does not exist," requires no proof if there is nothing it has to DISprove in order to be true. In other words, if there was a scenario where there were no evidence either way, "the Christian God exists" would be assumed to be false, an "the Christian God does not exist" would be assumed to be true, until further evidence is obtained.

For a long time, the world lived in that scenario with no evidence either way. But that is no longer the case. Science has discovered that the root mythologies that form the foundation of the Christian God's claim to existence are categorically untrue. The world is not thousands of years old, there was no global flood or Noah's Ark, life was not created in its unchanging modern form, several historical accounts and miracles either left zero evidence or were impossible given contrary evidence, or even contradictory accounts in the bible itself.

So we are left with the Christian claim deeply in the red, evidence-wise. It would take an extraordinary set of circumstances and an even more extraordinary amount of proof to establish its veracity, or even just its factual neutrality with the opposite claim. So no, there is no equivalency here, it does not "work both ways."
