My kids were studying different religions (Christianity, Judaism, and islam). I told the teachers that my kids were to be sent to the library when they discussed islam. The school had no problem in following my instructions. As a matter of fact, they just smiled and said, "can't blame you for that".

Reminds me of the Simpsons episode.
"Ezekiel and Ishmael, in accordance with your parents' wishes, you may now go into the hall and pray for our souls."
People like this confirm that God is not real. If he was real, this kind of people would be incinerated on the spot and it'd be all over the news for our, however slightly sadistic, pleasure.
Wow, way to brainwash. They can't even be tought ABOUT other religions now?
How embarassing must that be for the kid? If I were back in high school and had to leave the class every time Islam was being discussed, I'd never forgive my parents for making them do that. x.x
If you want to dissuade the little Littles from converting to Islam, a good way to do so is to teach them the non-sugar-coated truth about the religion. Then again, the same is true for most religions, including Christianity.
Generally when parents object to the content of a class in school (particularly an elementary school) most schools just let the parents opt their kids out, saves time and money and a nasty fight. However, that's generally done for things like sex-ed not comparative religions.
I don't think this is a poe. I read that site and there's a half-dozen people posting there, all as equally brainwashed and hysterically hateful towards anything besides their religion. Nice cartoon at the end of his post, makes it very clear they do not view other religions, especially muslim, as human, at all.
I work in educational publishing, in elementary Social Studies. Many states require that students at a certain level (around 3rd/4th grade) learn about the "big 3" religions. Teachers have to document that they have covered the standards--they cannot allow some students to "opt out."
I don't think this is a poe, but I don't think our pal C. Little is observing the 9th commandment, either.
It's nice to see that the next generation of bigoted, narrow-minded, pig-ignorant, brain dead fundie nutcases is coming along nicely.
Just ya'll be sure to keep them beatings nice and regular now, and i'm sure C. Little Jr will be appearing on this site before you know it.
Islam: the 21st Century Red Menace.
Yep, you just keep those kids iggnint and maybe, just maybe, they'll get to go to their own Iraq-style war and get their heads blown off.
I still can't believe that you idiots know so little about your own religion. Christianity, Islam AND Judaism are all parts of what they call Abrahamic religions. They all stem from the same source they old testament, so if you think about it, people probably just made it up.
Know your history then come back to me and talk
Shouldn't this be on the Racists' board?
This should be on a Worthless Cunts' board of its own, honestly.
I guess I thought it was more racist, because she allows her child to learn about Judaism (which I'm amazed she's not getting ripped for), but Islam is evil.
To me fundie is NO RELIGION EXCEPT MINE, not anything but Islam (although they rip on Buddhists a little further down, guess they're just Islamists in drag).
I swear, Rapture Ready seems to get dumber and more bigoted every week. C. Little's sig, for instance, is nothing short of disgusting.
I know that in World History when we studied the different religions of the world our teacher wouldn't have excused someone from the class like that. There's no excuse for ignorance.
Though, it's no surprise that people like this are so misguided when it comes to what they believe about Muslims. They never really learned about them.

See it works both ways dumb-ass!
Hmmm... this reminds me of when my elementary school teachers used to hand out those mini-bibles, and the science teachers at my high school would teach evolution then tell the students that it was bullshit and that god created everything. I would suspect they came from the same area as me, except the schools in my county would never dare mention other religions.
It's funny. One of the priests who is preparing my cousin to her first holy communion has a copy of the Quran in his chapel. Of course, he doesn't pray five times looking to Mecca, he just wants to be sure what Islam really is.
Hey, is your faith that weak that learning about Islam will shatter it forever? You can learn about something and not agree with it, you know.
I feel bad for your kids.
I'm Christian and I loved learning about other religions in school. Not only could I learn about other people's belief systems, but I could find out a bit more about their culture as well. In my opinion, every American child should learn about Islam, not just because it has risen to such prominence today, but also for the insight into another mindset and culture. This goes for Judaism, Hinduism, and other religions as well.
"My kids were studying different religions (Christianity, Judaism, and islam). I told the teachers"...
Wait right there. Liar. Proof?: You lot at Ruptured Retards are always banging on & on about 'Government Indoctrination Centres' - and why Hoemskuling is 'superior ' - are you not...?!
9th Commandment, you little Liar for Jebus, you, 9th Commandment. Also Revelation 21:8 says that you're going to Hell regardless of if you're 'Saved' or not. Troll4Life, take note.
"can't blame you for that".
Could be policy, a teacher CAN'T blame, critizise or otherwise debate a parents religious convictions. The smile could have been a coy 'oh no, one of them' smirk.
What is notable about all these fundies who refuse any knowledge of other religions are the same one that will insist: "Our faith is unwavering and proof against all, nothing can corrupt a child of Christ." Then freak out about anything that isn't of their white bread upbringing, like 'Nigra music' to Harry Potter.
Everything scares you.
So, you want to keep your kids ignorant and uneducated? Good for you, the world needs more burger-flippers. Oh wait, no; even those jobs are taken up by educated people nowadays, or by people who are in the middle of educating themselves.
Or do you think that Islam is so much more powerful than Christianity, that the mere education about it will make your kids convert? Those three are hardly different religions, anyway. They have the same basis, the same rules mostly, the same god, even the same stories.
Confused?
