Well, first of all we were told we weren't allowed to obstruct or disrupt the march route, so we returned to the area where the sodomites were meeting after their walk. We kept being moved by police, and . A riot van, officers everywhere and a dog unit- kind of ridiculous, isn't it? In the end we were even asked to move to the other side of the road and keep away from the actual area! So instead we took it in turns to walk around passing out tracts to people and sitting on benches with people wearing rainbow flags to tell them about how much God loves them but hates what they're doing.

I have so got to this! Except, instead of people "wearing rainbow flags", I'll target people wearing crosses. And instead of handing out tracts to them saying "how much God loves them but hates what they're doing", I'll hand out pamphlets talking about how the FSM is pissed that people are adhering to false religions that do not pay homage to THE TRUE CREATOR, but how he loves you anyway. He will still totally f@#$ you up, though.
If I ever see you at a pride parade handing out those shitty tracts, I'll punch you once for wasting a tree, then punch you several other times for trying to make my day shitty by saying how some invisible, totalitarian cunt in the sky worries about what I do in bed. Fuck. That.
And it's funny how you'd call us out if we even let the word 'persecution' pass our lips, but if this happened to you, all you could wail on about is how them gays are persecuting your freedom of speech.
On another note, it sounds like the police did a fabulous job.

Yeah...I'm willing to wager that if so much as a rainbow flag was sighted near any church event, they'd be on the phone, demanding the entire force show up, remove the godless heathen, and have him charged with every crime in a 10 mile radius.
I think it would be cool to mingle with some fundies passing out tracts like that, bringing along some of my own and giving them out to them to distribute -- in a similar visual style, especially on the outside, but inside containing Bible verses (preferably in Jesus' own red-letter words) condemning self-righteous people for being intolerant, uncharitable, hypocritical, and inappropriately judgmental, and instead promoting those who are accepting, tolerant, honest, and open-minded. I wonder how many of the pseudotracts would get passed out before the fundies would realize that they had been distributing ammunition against themselves!
Good thing the police were there, otherwise I might have thought you were helping them march.

They brought kids along to protest?! Well, that's just "fabulous" parenting skills... teaching their kids to be as intolerant and hateful as they are. What the fuck is wrong with these people?
Frankly, I think the police were protecting the protesters as much as they were the parade participants. In addition to the stereotypical gay "pretty boy," there are some pretty tough "Bears" and some butch lesbians in those parades, I'm sure.
My wife and I have actually gotten into physical confrontations with protestors. I'm not at all butch, nor particularly aggressive, but I'm also not the kind of woman who sits and takes it when someone else goes out of their way to louse up my day and tell me how much they...I mean, God...hates what I'm doing. Yeah, I think the cops are there for both sides, too. I wish a cop had told them, "You are the reason we're here." Hell, I wish they'd been smart enough to take the hint for themselves.

The question I have never gotten a propper answer to is, why the hell does God care about people's personal sex lives? If he didn't want them to be gay he shouldn't have made them attracted to the same sex.
The true answer to this of course is that God dosn't care, christians do. They project their homophobia onto their imaginary deity, so they get to express their opinion on homosexuality without having to take responsability for having that opinion. Then they cherry pick the bible for a coupple of passing refrences to gay sex, written by people just as homophobic as they are.

The police - in their anti -terrorism role - were simply doing their job: eliminating any & all threats in any way shape or form, against citizens who have the basic human right to live without 'threats' of any kind. Right-wing Fundamental ist Christain Talibangelist 'Proseltysing' = 'Threats', ergo Terrorism .
The sooner all terrorist 'threats' of al kinds & from all fundamental ist sources are legislated out of existence the better, I'm sure you'd agree , eh GlassBudgie?
