As crudely worded as it may be, there is no fundamentalism in claiming Christians do not worship the deity who allegedly authored the Quran.
Even if they might stem from the same tradition, even if the Quran has obviously incorporated simple and heavily modified versions of Biblical stories, even if the old testament is replete with stories that are eerily similar to the abhorrent instructions found in the Quran.
Muslims need to believe the God of the Jews and the Christians is the same as theirs (according to the tenets of their own religion Islam is the 'pure' version of Christians and Jews).
For Christians the opposite is true. Similarly we shouldn't expect a Jew to accept Jesus to be the messiah and the actual Son of God.
God of Abraham, phed. The only difference is the lies that are told. Every super hero needs a nemesis, hence Satan. All part of the same bullshit and practically interchangeable at whim. "Gott Mit Uns!" Fnord.
I'm pretty sure the god of the bible, especially in the old testament, hated a lot of people. Otherwise, what was with all that smiting?
Yes, just look at all the things ALLAH does:
"The people of Samaria must bear the consequences of their guilt because they rebelled against their God. They will be killed by an invading army, their little ones dashed to death against the ground, their pregnant women ripped open by swords." (Hosea 13:16 NLT)
"For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth." Genesis 7:4
""Kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves." Numbers 31:17-18
Whoops, wrong "holy" book.

You already do. In two ways:
1- God = Allah. Do your research. Preferably a degree in Theology. They're one and the same, cunt-for-brains.
2- You already worship the ultimate terrorist: God. He murdered millions in the Flood. That includes all the women with child. Which means you also worship an abortionist.
Now you know why Atheism exists, Naor.
@ breakerslion
Sure...both religions claim to follow in Abraham / Ibrahim's footsteps. I am not arguing that. Imagine that I cooked up a religion in which I worship a deity named 'Allbright Aynstayn' who is a space alien as well as the inventor of the speed of light. I also claim it is the same 'Aystayn' most people today know as Einstein, but that my version of Einstein is the true version.
Would it be unreasonable for you to say; well Phed that's all dandy but they 'Aynstayn' you talk about is not my Einstein, who's not even a god to begin with but a brilliant theoretical physicist.
Prima facie their is nothing fundamentalist for a Christian to deny Allah is the same as Yahweh.
@ Danny Noonan "So the Jesus mentioned in the koran, the one sent to earth by god who can perform miracles is a totally different Jesus than the one in the bible?"
Yes. The Quran is very specific that Jesus is a mere mortal and goes out of its way to deny his divinity, his immaculate conception and his being part of the trinity. All of which are part and parcel of the Christian belief system.
It's obvious that the Quran's author intends to talk about the same person, but likewise it should also be obvious that Allah's opinion on the matter is not the same as the one Christians believe their God to have.
*sigh* The problem with religion, any religion, (imo) is that people tend to only focus on the really crazy people, because they're easy to remember and really easy to point to as being wrong. (This site being a good showcase of those crazies :) ). But claiming out and out that Allah is a horrible God to follow because "They have terrorists!" is just dumb. There are plenty of non-terrorists who believe in Allah, Naor. Just like there are terrorists who believe in GOD OF THE BIBLE. And terrorists who believe in any religion.
"Allah" isn't the Muslim god's name - it's just the Arabic word for "God". Muslims worship the God of the Old Testament, the same as Christians and Jews. Arabic-speaking Christians call God "Allah", too. Jesus, who spoke Aramaic, called God "Elah". In Hebrew, it's "Eloh" (usually written as the plural, "Elohim"). Arabic, Aramaic and Hebrew are all related languages, like Spanish (Dios), French (Dieu) and Italian (Dio).
Well, Just as 'Le bon Dieu' is for the French, 'Allah' is for the Arabs, the word in their language that means 'The God' who created heaven and Earth, and Adam and Eve, the Garden of Eden and Noah's flood.
If you refuse to believe in that specific supernatural being, I'd have said you're starting to grow up, if it weren't for the verbal tantrum you threw with it.
@1142022
Immaculate conception refers to the conception of Mary not Jesus. You are thinking of virgin birth in regards to Jesus which the quaran also claims to be true.
Ignoring the fact that these are all monotheistic religions which believe there is only one god and therefore they must all be worshiping the same diety in different ways, by your logic the god of the jews and the god of the christians must also be different because the jews do not believe in the divinity of christ. Most people accept that because the jewish and christian religions share a common root and have common religions texts (tora or old testament) and figures (Abraham, Moses, etc) they must worship the same god. islam shares the same root and the same religious texts and figures. Why wouldn't they be considered to worship the same god?
in short
jews -> waiting for THE PROPHET
christians -> Jesus was THE PROPHET
muslims -> Jesus was a prophet, Mohamed was THE PROPHET
all the same god
Ahhh, it's from Yahoo Nonsense...
You all worship the same fantasy figure, the god called GAY (God/Allah/Yahweh)
Impromptu Arabic lesson: you already do, kid.
This is why I very rarely take anything that doesn't translate the word "Allah" seriously. It does nothing but make Christians think that Muslims worship a different God. There are divisions between Christianity and Islam that exist without using ignoramus translation to create artificial ones.
Uh, huh. So if I understand you right, Naor, Allah = Satan and you don't believe in Allah. In short, you don't believe in Satan. Have I got that right?
What do you mean, you'll never believe in Allah? Of course you won't! You're a christian, and as such you are most likely convinced that there are no other gods [not to mention yours] so what is the point of your argument? If anything, you're only blatantly displaying the fact that a god is simply a construct of one's faith and as such it is no more real than the dream you've had last night.
In Jesus's time, the common language of the area was Aramaic. 'God' in Aramaic is 'Elah'.
Elah. Allah. Hmmmm, interesting.
And as you insist, Allah = Satan, and as we've established in this thread (as also proved by theologians) that YHWH/Jehovah = Allah, therefore the 'God' you worship = Satan...
Ergo, you're a Satanist, Naor. QED. You've admitted you are.
Ya know, christianity and Islam both sprouted from Judism...so yes, their god and yours are the same fucking god. Yes, interpritations through "prophets" are a bit different, but they're still the same god you moron

"For Christians the opposite is true. Similarly we shouldn't expect a Jew to accept Jesus to be the messiah and the actual Son of God."
Of course no one should, because Jews are the original that the other two sprouted from.
It wouldn't be logical to force them into believing someone that came along that starts a new religion off theirs is the messiah. Though it is logical that all three realize that they are worshipping the same damned god
Yeah, because Allah tells people to shock and awe other countries, kill their leaders and convert them to chistianity. Oh, wait . . .
There is very little difference between YHWH, Allah, and God.
If they are not one and the same, they must be identical twins.
Let me just translate this into all-English.
''The Aversary, AKA GOD''
''I will never believe in God, you f'ing terrorist.''
Hm.
The difference is much smaller than you think, Naor.
Mostly because they are all the same; the Abrahamic God, God/Allah/YHWH.
Oh, and btw, it's "between x and y", not "between x to y".
God is the biggest terrorist, ever. He threatens us with eternal punishment for petty misdeeds, and he sends earthquakes to Japan because he's pissed off at America's Liberals (or whatever it was).
Confused?
