What's wrong with Christianity in schools?

Why can you teech darwins theory but not God's? It might affend someone? boo frickedy hoo! What if im affended by darwin? Does anyone care? I think not. So why should i care if an athiest gets affended by me praying at lunch or having a Bible in the school? Why is it okay for other religions to be taught but not christianity? Wasn't America founded for religios and moral freedom? I want a good reason why it's ok for athiests and not Christians.

Answer : they hated Jesus then.....they hate His followers now.

No, hate is too strong a word. Annoyance would be more descriptive.

Based on the story, he was arrested, tried and sentenced by the current religious authority in Judea for blasphemy and heresy. However, since the Sanhedrin had no legal authority, they sent him to the secular authority (Herod, the figurehead king and the Romans who currently occupied the country) who got him on a charge of preaching without a permit. It was political expediency and statecraft as practiced in those days.

If you were Pilate, you'd have done the same thing - try not to piss off the various factions and keep the Roman legions from getting involved.

Read history. It's more fascinating than your book of fairy tales.

No one would be OFFENDED for you praying on your own or having your own book. However, if the school forces US Atheists to pray and carry bibles, well that would OFFEND us. No one forces you to carry a darwin book and believe in evolution. I didn't believe in evolution when I was in school, but now that I learned more about it outside of school, I believe it.

No, it's because there's no verifiable scientific data to back up Creationism. To place that in a science class is a slap in the face to scientists everywhere. I'm all for it being taught, though. In Bible studies, where it belongs.

Bingo. Science isn't a popularity contest. It's not about what's PC today. It's about what best fits the data at hand. Creation fails in that regard. Miserably. Don't wanna believe in the Theory of Evolution? Fine. Close your ears. Tell yourself it's all a lie. But it doesn't make it less true.

Go ahead and pray. Bring your Bible if it makes you feel better. Don't. Force. It. On. Others. Don't expect teachers to lead prayer, unless you're willing to have them cover all prayers. Don't expect them to let you evangelize, unless you're willing to be evangelized to. If you're allowed to have your religion in school, then we must make concessions for all, and deal with schmucks like you who will be shrieking about their precious kidlet being taught false religions.

Except it's not. No more than what is relevant to the facts at hand, anyways, which is little if any at all. Hell, if anything, Christianity gets far more time in schools than any other religion AS IT STANDS.

Because Darwin's theory has been proven by several independent fields, whereas gods, *ahem* theory, is grounded in religion and is false.

You misunderstand the situation.

1) Darwin's theory of evolution is not affiliated with any religious belief and is not an attack on or in any way conflicting with Christianity in general.

2) Secularism is about attaining religious neutrality, not about censorship. My friend Ben bringing the New Testament to school does not conflict with my or hopefully anyone's worldview. The point about for instance, getting rid of school prayer isn't (disallowing expressions of religion), it's (you don't have to pray if you don't want to). If you want to pursue religion you are full well allowed to do that in your own time, and those who cite crime rates after 1962 should be reminded that those inclined to pray will always do so and those who aren't will not be made more moral by doing so.
