K Riest, what you said is nothing short of blasphemy!
I can only say that you are lucky God offers people like you limitless chances to change, but there is no more hope after death. If it were after me, I'd kill all who oppose and defy me... but that is exactly what a human would do, not a being that is beyond this.
God is capable of anything, so placing a baby in a virgin woman is nothing, no big deal for him...

Didn't "God" tell "his" armies to wipe out entire kingdoms for perceived slights in which millions of men, women and children died for petty reasons? Is that not killing all who oppose and defy a very human thing to do - i.e.; made up by men to justify terrible crimes committed by men?
Kudos Princess Rot.
The Bible tries to justify atrocities again and again. At the end of the day it's just a folk-tale told by a bunch of bronze age tribal elders trying to justify their savagery by claiming God is on their side.
Look at the Republican Party today for proof nothing ever changes.

Doh, I missed the joke first time.
"I can only say that you are lucky God offers people like you limitless chances to change, but there is no more hope after death."
I've never quite understood why death is the cutoff point. Well, I understand it would be if your religion is bullshit and the priestly classes simply needed a way to coerce belief out of people, but I don't see why an omnipotent deity would place such a restriction on it.
"If it were after me, I'd kill all who oppose and defy me... but that is exactly what a human would do, not a being that is beyond this."
Ahem... Da Fludd. That's all I'm going to say.
"God is capable of anything, so placing a baby in a virgin woman is nothing, no big deal for him..."
Like I always say, when you start believing in an omnipotent entity then anything becomes possible and you may as well toss reality out the window because you'll believe anything from that point on so long as it can be attributed to that entity.
"God is capable of anything, so placing a baby in a virgin woman is nothing, no big deal for him..."
Bah. Zeus did it all the time. The only thing it proved was that he was really horny.
In case you're wondering, this was K. Riest's allegedly blasphemous post...
"1. Jesus existed. Unbiased historical records prove so. Merely he wasn't all super-pro like the bible suggests, no healing, no Chris Angle walk-on-water magic, no zombie skills. A powerful MORTAL leader, and very charismatic and able to manipulate and psyops like no other. But certainly not the child of (a) God, or a magically powerful person.
2. Jesus born from a virgin mother? lolwut. Plus as far as I know Mary and God were never married so that's already a sin. I doubt the ability to place a fetus inside the mother's womb without her noticing and without having sexed her up.
3. Bible. Its earliest forms date pre-2008 years ago. lolwut. Translated an enormous number of times, more versions then THIS IS SPARTA cartoons, heavily influenced by the powerful rules of the times in order to subtly convert the religious masses to their obedience. Numerous portions of the bible were censored or ignored.
4. God shouts sexism, racism and strong class society, and arguable supports fascist dictatorships.
5. Anyone seen god without doing something to their body to induce hallucinations?
6. So what's up with the other religions? If god punishes all sinners, and believing another god is a sin... Either he's a lazy SOB or he doesn't have be ability to punish.
Dogfather - evolution theory states we evolved from primates. Monkey's are primates so that gets people confused. Arguably we did evolve from monkeys, merely less evolved monkeys.. However as with all science that so powerfully refutes an established religion, there is controversy"
K.Reist did a good job there ... Jefferson would approve.
There is no hope (for change) after death. I can agree with that, and there's also this:
Those people who allowed themselves to be miserable slaves all their lives, have never actualized themselves, and will continue to be slaves in any supposed afterlife. Whoopee!
"If it were after me, I'd kill all who oppose and defy me... but that is exactly what a human would do"
No, that's what a psychopath would do.
Good thing you're not in charge, you maniac.
You'd kill all who oppose you. Yup you're right with God then. And the other posts you made showed very low grasp of anything. Evolution you don't seem to get, Buddha doesn't believe in god nor was deified, and the Muslim god is the Christian god.
"God is capable of anything, so placing a baby in a virgin woman is nothing, no big deal for him..."
shit all (ok most) men can do that...no big deal.
Been done before today by many men.
I suppose we were created in his image after all.
If it were after me, I'd kill all who oppose and defy me...
It amazes me at how many of these people claim they'd be psychotic killers if it wasn't for the fear of hell. Maybe they should be left in their delusions (or medicated).
@cyborgtroy - here it is.

"God is capable of anything, so placing a baby in a virgin woman is nothing, no big deal for him..."
All you need to do now is PROVE IT.
"I'd kill all who oppose and defy me... but that is exactly what a human would do"
Maybe that is what ~you~ would do, it certainly isn't what any normal human being would do.
Also: Our scientists are also capable of placing a baby in a virgin woman. They will be happy to learn that they are gods.
It's often joked that without their religions fundies would have no moral compass and go on killing sprees, but this seems like a genuine example. It's like he's said "God I want to kill everybody ! Just kill and kill and kill and kill! No, wait, i'd better not. God might disaprove. I'll put the shotgun back in the cabinet and watch the 700 Club instead."
Well, many DID claim at times that heresy WAS a form of blasphemy. I think, at least, that's part of what the Arians and Athanasians had to say about each other (I can see, in any case, how Arius might have thought Athanasius was compromising God's glory by giving Jesus an unwarranted and unsought promotion, and Athanasius thought Arius was compromising Jesus's glory by failing to regard him as God...).
I still don't understand why people put so much value on something as hollow as glory. More emphasis on virtue and justice when it comes to the metaphysical, yes?
If you think that God is beyond killing all those who oppose and defy you, you haven't read the Bible! Not only does he do that...often...but, well...the idea of Hell itself is testament to a similar mindset in God as you yourself admit to in yourself. I would say that great minds think alike, but, well...I am an atheist for a reason...
"If it were after [sic] me, I'd kill all who oppose and defy me..."
Sounds a lot like God, doesn't it? Isn't it funny how fundies apparently have no self control or reason to be decent people other than eternal damnation as punishment?
Quite true Skyknight, which is part of the reason I would not expect most people to know the difference. In some cases it does seem blasphemy is almost a shadow following heresy so your point is well taken.
In a perfect world virtue and justice would lead one to glory sadly in reality that is not always the case. I suppose it is the lust for power that drives one to pick glory over virtue and justice.
God is capable of anything, so placing a baby in a virgin woman is nothing, no big deal for him...
I would have been more impressed if God had placed a baby in a virgin man. That shouldn't be a big deal for him either.
I doubt it would be much of a feat, but he's never done such a thing nor had any reason to since humans, along with most animals, breed far too much anyway.
K. Riest. I love that. Hat's off to whoever came up with that screen name that went *Whooooosh* right over this joker's head.
I love it when these fundies threaten to go on a killing spree--I can practically feel the spittle spray hitting my face through these here intertubes.
[If it were after me, I'd kill all who oppose and defy me...]
I think I can see why--you can't win by logic or facts, so force is pretty much your only option, isn't it?
Luckily, it *isn't* up to you...
[but that is exactly what a human would do, not a being that is beyond this]
There are plenty of humans that would *not* do what you've described. There's myself, for one. There are also thousands of pundits who have had the opportunity to resort to violence, but haven't.
Perhaps your point of view is just a teensy tiny bit skewed?
"...what you said is nothing short of blasphemy!"
And Madness!
Well tough shit, Frosty, because THIS IS SPARTA!!!!1!
(kicks frost4z4 into a bottomless pit)
Yeah, I know, this is a tired joke, but I couldn't help it, seeing the word blasphemy there.
Confused?
