(In response to a poll thread Titled "Should a Christian own a gun?")
If it were possible,
Only christians should have guns. They are the only ones I would trust. For they fear the Lord and know they must give an account.

I wouldn't trust a christian to have a gun.
I'd expect them to go on killing sprees and expect jesus to forgive them
Only patriots should have guns.
And it is impossible for a christian to.be a patriot.
Armed Christians... Now, as much as that is a scary thought, it is, unfortunately, a reality. Says a lot about the rate of gun violence in this country, doesn't it?
Yeah, how do we know you won't kill someone in cold blood and then pull that forgiveness bullshit?
You gotta have consequences to have morals.
So...not because of human empathy, or realization of the implications of how it will affect the family and friends of the person said Christian ventilates...but because when he reaches the end of the line, God will be tapping his foot, and wagging a finger. But of course, since you're "not perfect, just forgiven," it's all moot, anyways.
Boy, I dunno about you, but I'm relieved.

You know that most inmates on death row are "Christian," right?
Idiotic "Christianity=morality" tripe.
Contrary to what you assert, you shouldn't trust a Christian with a gun because they believe that they are able to be forgiven whatever they do wrong, and feel that the Devil, demon possessed, and sinful people are lurking around every corner. Paranoia and sense of being exempt from laws applying to everyone else, coupled with the idea that they live forever, makes for a recipe that doesn't look particularly safe to the people around them.
Totalitarians for Jesus.

With your advocacy of such a repressive policy, I have to wonder what you have in mind...
Oh please, no.
Even responsible people can get in trouble by owning guns, I don't want to picture a fundie with them, probably going on a killing spree for jeebuz.
Hell yeah, praise the lord and pass the ammunition. I'm sure Jesus, being a pacifist and all, would love this idea.

Well, Catholics (I know, I know, they're not Christians) sadly can't pull that. It's why the whole concept of purgatory was developed. That way you can rectify the "Belief gets you into heaven" with the problem of "Fuck it all, if that's all I need I can do whatever I want". Essentially it means that sure, you can be forgiven, but you're still suffering for all the shit you did, and it will be that much longer to get into heaven if you're a prick.
Oh, sidenote, Saints (in the Catholic Church) are just people who the church is pretty sure went directly to heaven. Do not pass purgatory, do not collect penence.
Timothy McVeigh, Christian, killed a lot of people.
Me, not Christian, killed no one.
You fail.
So when you go to get your pistol permit or FID card, you're suggesting a religious test? Isn't that a blatant violation of the First Amendment? Not that that's ever bothered you before. I can just picture Wally's World- firearms restricted to the patriot movement, militias, and abortion clinic killers.

And how many of them think that killing the heathens for Jesus is a good thing?
Either everybody gets one, or nobody. Take your pick.

Fundie: "I killed 57 people, and I raped a ape in the zoo. Plus I eated a clam once"
God: "Oh, bad form old boy. Have you anything to say for yourself?"
Fundie: "Jebus paid for my sins on the cross, 2000 years before I did them."
God: "Quite right, you are as innocent as a babe. Sit next to Tammy, we need a forth for Bridge."
Thank goodness my husband (a heretic like me) has a cc permit!
He spent 18years as a deputy, teaches firearms and is a rational human being. Because he has only one life, (just like everyone else) he treasures all life -- unlike monotheists who want to die so they can spend eternity in orgiastic rapture proclaiming their devotion to the cruelest god imaginable.
Please, please keep the fundies away from my beautiful daughter!!!
Yes, and that account shall be, "See, Lord? I converted him before he died! He said 'Help me, God!' If it weren't for me, he would have died in his sins. Aren't I a good Christian?!"
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
