On creationism in schools
Q u o t e:
But she doesn\'t discount it as rubbish.
This is scary.
Neither does Osama.
Do you realize you represent 3% of the population? You really have no ground to stand on here. We know you hate God and the thought of personal responsibility, but you shouldn\'t force your minority beliefs on the rest of us.

If you're referring to non-theists:
First of all, multiply that percentage by at least five; even then, you'll only have the number of non-religious people who've actually spoken up and identified themselves as such (there've got to be quite a few more who haven't done so);
Secondly, atheists and agnostics don't hate God, any more than they hate the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, or any other literary character they don't believe is real. On the contrary, non-believers tend to embrace personal responsibility quite readily, as they believe that this lifetime is the only one they'll ever have.
As for forcing minority beliefs on the rest of you, cue pie chart in five, four, three, two, one...
but you shouldn\'t force your minority beliefs on the rest of us
Aren't you fuckers trying to do the exact same thing in various countries around the world - for example, China? Missionaries in China feel exactly the same way that nontheists would feel if there were a theocratic government in control, so you should know how it feels to be a minority. Remember that "love thy neighbour" thing? Practice what you preach.
If you're referring to atheists, try 15.1% of the population.
If you're referring to people who don't believe in creationism, then the results are a little fuzzy. Though some polls suggest that over 50% believe in creationism, those polls suggest it's not much over 50% (maybe 54%), while other polls suggest creationists actually make up less than 50% of the population, and that 'evolutionists' are in the majority.
We know you hate God and the thought of personal responsibility, but you shouldn\'t force your minority beliefs on the rest of us.
Blindly following the arbitrary, unjustified commandments attributed to your god is the ultimate renunciation of personal responsibility.
We know you hate God and the thought of personal responsibility...
Really. So taking control of ours lives, or destinies, and our thought processes isn't personal responsibility, but screeching about how demons make you do bad things, and how the blood of a Jewish zombie will bring you to the pie in the sky, regardless to how many people you've robbed, raped killed or whatever sin I'm forgetting here.
[Do you realize you represent 3% of the population?]
Citation, please.
[You really have no ground to stand on here.]
How so?
[We know you hate God and the thought of personal responsibility...]
You know exactly nothing about my feelings toward God and personal responsibility.
[..but you shouldn\'t force your minority beliefs on the rest of us.]
Back at you.
This "minority belief" is proven science. This is not political, as your religion is; it has nothing to do with your opinion or mine; it is established fact, proven time and again by independent experimentation and observation; it is reality.
I really wish fundamentalist Christians who believe in a literalist interpretation of the Bible would wake up and realize that they are a minority amongst Christians.
Most Christians I know have no problem reconciling evolution with their faith, having realized a long time ago that the Bible wasn't meant to be interpreted literally.

Am I the only one who notes the irony here?
Actually I'm gonna assume Osama does believe in creationism, as he is highly ideological and ...
Oh, wait, you meant Obama? Wow, you sir are both original and highly insightful! Never could I have seen the ties between Obama and Osama had you not brought that small change in name to mine eyes! He must be a terrorist!
BTW, Santa and Satan both want a word with you...

Palin and Putin, it's just two letters!11
Yeah, but ours is the truth. Like how the earth moves around the sun. Even if we were 1% your very life rests in the hands of our inventions. What? You think antibiotics exist because of our random guesswork or our understanding of evolution?
All of biology and all of medicine rests on the shoulders of evolutionary science. If that goes, it all goes. We go back to dying at the age of 4 from scrapped knees due to gangrene and septecemia.
Crap. I'm confused. Do they mean Osama bin Laden, or Barack Obama? Rush Limbaugh has referred to Obama as "Osama" for years now, to the point that even my mind kicks out the correlation whenever I think of either man, and I don't think Obama is a stealth Muslim.
Fuck you, Rush, for poisoning my own thoughts. Fuck you very much.
even if there was one atheist in the fucking world, evolution would still be taught according to the american constitution because it's science. if the rest of the world was christian, this wouldn't constitutionally get creationism into schools.
"We know you hate...the thought of personal responsibility,"
Odd sentiment for people who blame their misdeeds on The Devil
First of all, atheists make up more than 3% of the population. Secondly, it is you, the Christian majority, who seeks to impose your beliefs on religious minorities. Quit trying to turn this around and play the victim, it's dishonest and pathetic.
Confused?
