Plate tectonics are a man made idea and geologist use it to try and prove that the earth is millions and millions of years old. Its not. The bible says it is only 6,000 years old and if the bible says it I believe it.

The bible says lots of foolish things that everyone knows, deep down, are outright silly.
Grow up, and get over your infantile fantasies.
There's a real world out there with real people, many different, many similar, but all unique. You really should broaden your horizons and get to know more of them. You'd be amazed at how wonderful most people are, regardless of whether or not they believe in dieties. The world is not quite as black and white as you imagine it to be. There is a rainbow between them.
And bats are birds, and the sun revolves around the earth and the sun stood still and snakes can talk, etc, etc.
You know, it's shocking how many people buy into that "God said it, I believe it, that settles it" meme. That so many people can say such a thing with and not feel even a hint of dissatisfaction with such a meager explanation of the universe makes me fear for the future of the human race.
Clarify, please, WHERE does it state the age of the earth?
It was calculated by counting up all the begettings. Which, since how long people lived seems to be in doubt, makes me think that the calculation cannot be more than a guess.
And isn't there a line that a thousand years is but second to God? Soooo... if god says it took a day to do something... Well.. work it out. Don't forget to carry the 3.
Believe what you want but don't try to pass it off to others' kids as science.
Or wait... I'm European!
Go ahead and teach ID in school. In a couple of years we will be able to sell you our last-generation technology while we buy new stuff from Asia!
Not only is there evidence for plate tectonics, but you can actually measure the movement yourself in many places. Please provide an explanation for those changes.
@ Quantum Mechanic: I think we can probably answer 3/4 of the claims the fundies make about science with "Eppur, si muove".
You're saying the bible was revised, then.
ANATHEMA!!1!
A fella name of Ussher had too much time on his hands, counted all the begats, and pulled a SWAG out of his ass.
It ain't anywhere in the bible.
Wow...that's beyond idiotic
So I guess if plate tectonics aren't real, earthquakes are God alterting us to the Rapture's imminence? So...we've been in the "End Times" since the dawn of time basically?
huh
Also, I know PTK are probably his initials and all, but I'm mildly concerned that his username is a mere letter away from BTK(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dennis_Rader )
'Plate tectonics are a man made idea and geologist use it to try and prove that the earth is millions and millions of years old.'
Because it IS, shithead. You've been listening to too much of James Dobson's, D. James Kennedy's & Tony Perkins' bullshit to grow a brain bigger than a pea.
Of course it's a manmade idea, halfwit. We're the only organisms on this planet that are intelligent enough to figure out how it works. Though on here, sometimes I really wonder how intelligent we are after all.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
