If our Government was founded upon Christian principles, why cant the men of God in office do something about this persecution that is taking place. God Bless Kent Hovind for standing for truth and not letting persecution swade his ways or views!!!

Wow, two kinds of fail. Treaty of Tripoli, and render unto Ceasar, respectively.
Thanks for playing anyway.
The word is "if." Since this country wasn't founded on Christian principles but on the Constitution and the rule of law, Hovind doesn't get a free pass.
He broke the law. He got caught. He was convicted. He went to jail.
You're absolutely right, but you got your wording wrong.
Kent Hovind hasn't changes his ways or views, despite the PROSECUTION he's been through. You said persecution, how silly.
"God Bless Kent Hovind for standing for truth and not letting persecution swade his ways or views!!!"
What the hell is a swade?
EDIT: Jay-Sus, that pun is a real groaner.
"If our Government was founded upon Christian principles..."
It wasn't, go read the Constitution if you're confused on this point.
That's a lot of fail to stuff into such a small space.
First of all, our government was NOT founded upon Christian principles. Second of all, Christians are not being persecuted in this country, and never have been. Third, Hovind was tried and convicted and sentenced to prison for tax evasion; not paying your taxes is actually illegal.
Three strikes, you're out!
I never liked slimy ol' Hovind, and I never will. Just because a 'follower god would rather not have' has their head in the clouds, that dosen't mean you can do whatever you want. Also, work on your grammar, one-hit wonder! Oh, and the USA is a SECULAR nation. That's why we have MUSLIMS, BUDDHISTS, ATHEISTS etc.
If our Government was founded upon Christian principles...
Way to fail in your opening sentence. America was not founded on Christian principles. Individual liberty and self-government are as close to a diametric opposite as you can get from the Bible without actually becoming a Satanist.
Our government was not founded on Christian principles, but if we assume that it was, that includes Romans 13:1-7, right?
"If our Government was founded upon Christian principles"
It wasn't, so your entire post is pretty much meaningless.
"...why cant the men of God in office do something about this persecution that is taking place."
Because there is no persecution taking place.
Wow, that was an easy question.
Ah, but this is not a country based on Christian principles. It's a nation based on law. We have a set of laws that, as citizens, we agree to. One of these is paying taxes. You pay them, and obey the other laws, you go through life happy as a clam. You decline to pay them, the gov't PROSECUTES you, and, if found guilty, you pay the money you owe, plus fines, and go to prison. Ain't living in a democratic republic grand?
These are getting so fucking old.
They go on about the evil atheists, but when one of their own gets arrested for prostitution/tax evasion/child molestation then they circle the wagons and start screaming OMG PURSIKUTIN!!!!!!ELEVENTYONE11!!!
1. Our government was not founded on strictly Christian principles.
2. To what persecution do you refer? Hovind was not convicted of any religious offenses; he was convicted of tax evasion, which applies equally to every citizen, regardless of his/her religion.
"If our Government was founded upon Christian principles..."
Well, it wasn't, so the rest of your related argument is null and void by default.
And for a man who "stood for truth", boy did he do a lot of untruthful things!
Kent faced criticism not persecution.
He was jailed for tax evasion, not his religious views, his legal views, his very stupid unknowlegable legal views. It wouldn't surprise me if he presented a legal diploma in court he wrote on toilet paper. Be as valid as his fake PHd.
You Fundies will defend any crime perpetrated by your leaders. You will allow any excess of bahavior from them, you worship men in the end.
@ Mudflappus
"I still revel in the deer in the headlights look I get from these idiots when I ask them specifically which 'Christian Principles' this country was supposedly founded upon."
- The answer I usually get is "The Constitution was practically copied word for word from The Bible!" I have found that if I ask further questions I will get a long diatribe about liberal revisionist history. So I don't.
"If our Government was founded upon Christian principles, why cant the men of God in office do something about this persecution that is taking place. God Bless Kent Hovind for standing for truth and not letting persecution swade his ways or views!!!"
He's not known as Kent 'Oh, Mark 12:17 doesn't apply to me ! ' Hovind for nothing, you know, Brandy Balls.
What did Jesus say in Matthew 22:20-22, especially v.21?:
'Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's'
You don't want to be punished for not obeying your Saviour, do you not? Just ask ol' Kentypoos.
You always say that yours 'isn't a religion , but is "a personal relationship with Jesus"' do you not? You & all the related churches & their organisations...?
(*Gets mobile phone out of pocket *)
...you want to talk to the IRS - about your churches' tax-exemption as religions - or shall I...?! [/paradox]
And I've got news for you. Unless you can find the words 'God', 'Jesus' and 'Creator' in the basis of what your government is founded on, then said 'Men of God' don't have the right to exist in the political system of your country.
Confused?
